I remember my dad, when I was very young, had left the blade on the cake of soap. I didn't notice it and picked up the soap and proceeded to cut my hand all over the place as I tried to soap lather my hands. An experience I'll never forget. Geo, I love your videos. I was in my early twenties when disposable multiple blades became popular and I threw away all my wet shaving razors (I sincerely regret doing this). After years of razor burn, irritated skin going from trac ll to 6 blade cartridges I progressed from razor burn to ingrown hairs. Out of desperation I tried double edge and eventually straight razor shaving. I have never looked back!! Wonderful video, I really appreciate you and your channel. I’m 37, I’ve been double edge shaving since 2014, with the Merkur 34c. I soon bought a Shavette that takes single edge blades, a Dovo Bismarck straight razor and an expensive strop. Last week I purchased the Merkur Futur in Chrome. It’s been an amazing journey, and feel ashamed of my Mach 3 and Fusion days 🤦🏽‍♂️ Lol. Once again, great video, much love from Cambridge UK.

After gettin a dollar tree DE razor and 5blade kit it really turned me onto DE shaving. Just got a long handle qshave TTO razor in and astra blades coming tomorrow. Today I got lucky and was digging in the sink drawers amd actually found a Schick Krona DE razor. Musta been my grandpa or dads. Theyve passed and I still live in the house, soo much old stuff around. Woulda never cared for it when using cartridges but 2 weeks into DE razors and I find this gem.. Soo excited to shave with both when my astras come.. I took the blade outta the dollar tree one for my 4 year old to mess with when he watches me shave. 👍 Been learning a lot from your and other's videos on DE razors.

Nice overview, and some info I didn`t know about about the history of DE blades :) I also wrap my blades and break them, BUT, I dump my blades as well as other metal scrap in a small tin (tomato beans), so I can deliver the load to the same hardware store I deliver used batteries. I vape and make my own coils, so there is always a little bit of kanthal or stainless steel getting dumped in there, but three months of use and it`s about 1/3rd full, so I think it will be a yearly delivery to the hardware store hehe. Every little thing counts, right? ;)

Hahaha! Always informative and amusing! I was watching something like This Old House and their was actually a small slot built/stamped? into the back of the metal medicine cabinet for blade disposal. I like the blade magnet idea a lot. Looks like I'll be making my first purchase from ShaveNation. I'll probably buy a razor vault/safe too while I'm at it. Thanks!

Hi, over here (the UK) the razor box has acompartment /slot in the rear for safe disposal of used blades, and when full, with the supplied but dull blades, dispose of in regular trash, no problems less risk.

Jammin GI James Thanks James, I spent a lot of time making this video. I think a lot of people don't realize how time consuming one like this is. Lots of information, setup and take-down, and filming, and editing. It was fun making that blade disposal can!
