In this guitar lesson we will learn all the positions of the C major scale, this method will use the whole fretboard and will go through all the guitar modes so you can start improvising all around the neck. The modes for the C major scale are: C Ionian, D Dorian, E Phrygian, F Lydian, G Mixolydian, A Aeolian and B Locrian. We will learn 5 modes/positions within the C major scale and this will be enough for you to have a scale map of the guitar fretboard and you can start improvising/playing lead guitar. I will also tell you what chords you can use for the C major scale and will do a little improvisation so you can hear how it sounds. I was thinking only the C major scale in different fret positions. But, the presentation involves different scales including modes and minors. I got confused.

the C major scale is within all of these modes. you just need to start playing it from the C note. Although when you improvise over the C major scale chords all of these positions/modes will sound good.

@@TheSpanishGuitarHub It is too advanced for me. I only know the C chords in the fret. And I was thinking of playing the C scale from those chords, as the same scale you play when you play the C scale with open strings. I mean for beginners. Thank you.
