I do alot of similar things for my blots. Briefing the blot to get everyone on the same page is a big help as i use it to give reason why, and what gods/goddesses we plan to venerate. Im curious on how you conduct sumbel. For our kindred we allow the diety of choice for the first round and thats the only time i allow it. If im visiting another kindred and they host sumbel i give a toast to the host of the blot. Considering how much time and effort it takes to put together a blot, its only respectful to show appreciation to the host and their efforts to build and bring community together. We have videos showing our sumble ritual and how we do it. But basically the first toast is the opening and it goes to Odin by the gothi. First round is to the god or goddess of your choice, second round is to the fallen, third round is open to anything you want to raise a horn to, also open to oathing, gifiting, or just boasting. The final toast is from the gothi to close the ritual and it goes to the spirits of the land and home that hosted us.

Quick question I noticed in some blots/rituals you hold a deer antler (or at least some kind of antler lol). What does the antler represent?

I have the antler in Blót to Frey, as that is the only weapon that he has at Ragnorok. I use a spear for Odin (when possible) a sword for Tyr, a drop spindal for Frigg, an Amber necklace for Freyja etc. I almost always keep the hammer in one hand but keep a "tool of the gods" in the other hand. It is just one of my personal habits.

I am a new DRGL/Goði. Due to our group being small to medium sized weekly ritual that is somewhat informal. Also due to the nature of our situation, phones are allowed because emergencies can happen at any time. Infact we had one ritual disruption due to real world events. As for each weekly ritual, I typically have a few Gods/Goddess to call on for the meaning of the subject. I will allow the group to bring in others as needed on some services, especially since I had to open up slightly to other various Pagans. They understood I have to conduct it primarily as a Norse Pagan but I do allow some freedom. This series has helped me with working within my group I picked up for now. I hope to learn more.

Thank you i will continue to watch and learn from your information. I was once in a kindred and was put in the Gothi position but no one wanted to learn or participate. Chieftain would cancel himself from coming to gatherings. Very disappointing and discouraged. Thank you for your teachings

A lot of people drift in and out of this path for various personal reasons. A good gothi puts no expectations on the people. He only serves when needed and then goes back to his life studies and practice. When we expect others to take it as seriously as we do, that can only bring conflict. There are many playgans and brosatru, that will either outgrow that nonsence and take it seriously, or follow the next trend, there has already been celtic, greek, roman, spartian, and now norse, pop culture trends. There will be a next and they will follow the crowd.
