The dot positioning seems random (to a person seeing this for the first time). Is that to help with legibility when reading based on how letters are typically arranged in the English language?

It’s not random! It’s a pattern that repeats. The first 10 letters use only dots 1,2,4,5 (the top four), the next 10 use the same arrangement of dots but with 3 (bottom left) added, then it repeats again with 4 AND 6 added (bottom left AND right). (The third set ends on the fifth to get to 25 letters.) The only exception to the pattern is W, which wasn’t in the original Braille alphabet; it’s just added to the third set with its own style. You clearly have an incredible memory, and are extremely educated. Its so cool that you make learning braille seem so easy! Its very hard for me to learn with my brain fog and executive functioning issues from having health issues. If i ever need to learn braille, i will be returning to your vids, and i will recommend them to others! Thanks! 😁

I love learning alphabets as a special interest of mine, and just learn from one of your recent videos about contractions in braille, and had no idea there were so many.. i knew a few of them, the alphabet, number symbol (from reading random signs and elevator numbers), and the numbers. I still have a lot to learn. It's like my ASL, only know very basic sign and the how to fingerspell the alphabet, but nothing more so far (as a hearing and sighted person who is also disabled)
