You won't believe this I have been playing with that for some time. It is really beautiful just by moving the fingers from a major chord.Thankyou I enjoy your videos , guitar is so rewarding.
I’d like to try that Lizard Spit! I’ve been doing a version of that walk down for years but not quite the way you do it. I’m going to give it a try. Enjoying the channel so keep up the good work ma’am 😀 oh yeah…8:32 east coast time.
9.30 pm here.... about to go to bed in my old caravan. Watch a bit of tv. I use some Ernie Ball spray. It brings up the gloss on my guitars. Bit expensive here in oz, but a little goes a long way.
I’ve had so many polishes throughout the years I can’t remember them all but now but that Lizard Spit looks interesting. Good lesson on walk downs, they really enhance strumming! The iPhone set up seems to be working fine.
Thanks for the feedback. 😀 every once in a while I hear a faint hiss. I thought it was the iPhone. Turns out it is the air conditioning… its getting hot here again!
Do you get to keep all the different guitars you use in your videos and if so what do you do with them all? I love every guitar you have displayed you know how to play for sure. My mentor thank you for sharing with us you are a wonderful teacher.
Not all the guitars are mine. I borrowed some of them. I do have a fun collection of unique guitars. I keep them out on wall hangers so they get played. I have them out in a hall way. I call it my hall of strings. 😀I also love when friends and family visit so we can share the experience of playing together.
Your doing a great job videos we don't care how they look as long as you play and teach us. Truly and honestly your picking hand I pay attention too alot it sounds the way I want to play and sound overall. I love your picking sound tone speed 👍👍👍👍🤘🤘 take a listen to Kaleo Icelandic band all songs picked might like em. Thanks for today's lesson. D walkdown already using thanks to you!!
That was a little easier than last night’s lesson. At least for me, but we need both! I’d love to learn parts of a gospel song at least when you are up to it. I haven’t used anything to polish my guitar, so this is all good learning for me! Thank you!
I use Renaissance Paste Wax on the tops and neck - recommended by Jerry Rosa on his guitar /mando build and repair channel. A little pricey, but puts nice hard shine on the finish. Gibson spray polish for B and S's ( Robert Johnson approved ?). As you said, NEVER use a silicone based wax.. It will make any refinish repair impossible. That D run , with variations, used for Wichita Lineman, More Than A Feeling and a million others , so thanks.
I've used all my life those kind of skinny spray cans of "Lemmon Pledge" always worked great for shine&protection. I couldn't find it at the two local stores near me a few months back but they had a somewhat larger spray bottle of a Johnson Pledge (Orange Scent) that said "Wood Oil" on the label that seems to be working fine though a little more oily to wipe off. Still Love the other Lemmon lighter stuff though and plan to buy it when I see it. Joe Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Very nice walkdown lesson! On the first one your second string was thudding on the D note third fret because your ring finger was sliding backwards, but you probably knew that. 😊 Barring any health issue with your hands you should be able to get that stretch when your 1st finger moves to the Bb note on the 5th string. I have a cool walkdown with the D chord I've used a long time now as an exercise. If I can get around to making a video I'll send it to you. All the best!
You can do it! I think it keeps your mind young! Did you know that children that learn string instruments commonly excel in math. So science show it does exercise the brain. Glad you are listening in. I picked another walk down I will show tomorrow (posted at 5am west coast time) thanks!❤️
Hi, I’ve been using Lizard spit for a while now, they make very good stuff. Their fret polishing packets are fantastic ( nickel or stainless frets ). I paint guitars as well, on Nitrocellulose lacquer instruments I use the Virtuoso which gives me the very best results. If your guitar has some light scratches you should also try Mcguiers Scratch X, hope these help should you try and use either ever 😊 Almost all of my guitars are Nitro finished so it’s all I use anymore, thanks for your lessons as well!
@@guitarnotions it works fantastically, just work it on with a microfiber and wipe off just like you're waxing your car :) It's a bit pricey but a little bit goes a long way.
Great little lesson ! Those are important walk downs used in many great songs! Appreciate your lessons. Keep them coming please👍. I just purchased a kinda expensive polish from Gibson....I hate it . Martin guitar polish is my usual go to and does a nice job on all my various guitar finishes, but I'm looking for something better... I will definitely try the lizard spit. Thank you for today's video.
Only discovered your recordings two days ago, really enjoying listening to your playing, the knowledge and information you share and particularly your charming delivery, thank you from the UK 🇬🇧
Hi Cindy. I really like this lesson. Gordon Lightfoot uses these walkdowns a lot. Listen to his song Approaching Lavender off the Sit Down Young Stranger album. If you want to, I would really like to see more lessons on your right hand. The way you fingerpick seems to bring out the best in your guitars. I guess I'm just asking for the mechanics, pluck this string then this one, etc. Hope you have a great day. Cheers
They (not sure who “they” are) say make sure the furniture polish does not have silicone in it. It can be hard on some guitar finishes. Thanks for sharing 😀
I thought every guitar tech and luthier out there screams about never using furniture polish anywhere on any type of guitar because it can damage most finishes. 🤔🤷🏼♀️
