Great video!!! But here is something important that this clip does not explain: At least in American English... "How are you?" "How's it going?" "How (are) you doing?" are all really just salutations, or ways of greeting and saying "Hello." It is spoken fast (A: Hi, B: Hi, how are you? A: Good, you? B: Good.) The other person will almost always answer the same was you did, and it is expected that you will say, at least that you are "OK" or "Alright." If someone uses this greeting to discuss their problems, they are thought to be complaining because its really just a polite greeting- it is not the other person truly asking if your life is going well... They are just being polite. A Polish friend of mine had trouble with this when she first moved here, so I hope this makes sense. Very common. Where I am from, New York, the dialect changes to "How you doin'?" Note: This CAN also be used if someone is really concerned with how someone is... It will be clear by the WAY they ask. The words will be the same, but they may touch your arm and/or make eye contact... Or, most common, say "But seriously, how are you?" I thought I would explain for those who speak textbook English well and now want to improve their conversational English.

It's very easy and fun to learn english with this videos. And writing the words that alisha says jt's a really good idea for the people who have difficulties to understand the oral language.

Alisha is a great teacher. I love the way she specifically emphasizes certain words so as to invite you to say it the way she is saying it. In my day, one did not have to sort through all the damn diversity that makes verbal comprehension nearly impossible today.

Even as a Native English speaker, I found this video helpful. Every time anyone asked me "What's up," I never knew how to answer. I usually replied along the lines of "Nothing much," but now I know what it means.

As an American, I can confirm that these phrases are useful for people close to you. If you aren't close to someone, you should just say: "I'm good, thank you." Or "It could be better, thank you."

I don't khow why there're so many comments like 'why they teach English with English instruction'. For me, this is a very good material. I understand more and more how people communicate in real life. As I am an English learner I don't mind if I have to learn English in English instruction. Because you may not find good materials in your mother language. And of course, they made this video for free and youtube is worldwide. They don't need to suit you to many various language to explain. If you want to speak English, push yourself harder.
