The fact is ,Lucy was not peter ' real sister. I think mom should have allowed peter to marry Lucy. 2nd thing ,why mom tried to make the whole thing mysterious. She should have made it clear.

I think, peter mother should have told to peter all about lucy when he came to house, or she should have told to lucy about who was real mother then problem could have solved,here the main problem is the mother did not tell about their blood relationship that's why she crumpled between both of them. Conclusion-don't hide truths I am from india

Lucy's parents and Peter's parents were same. The mother adopted Peter from Lucy's parents. So Lucy amd Peter are siblings. ❤ Loved the story❤

Well it's really amazing and at the same time very pathetic in that life of a sweet mother was involved and life has no duplicate, it's like a cake you " you cannot eat your cake and have it" I see the mother as the root cause of everything because she supposed to o give her son vivid explanation of her actions, I think to some extent will show the young man the part way to follow in other to make the vision of the poor woman come to pass so as to unite the three people concern together better than what happened. On the part of the son, he supposed to have discussed his intentions first with her mother this could have helped him not to make expensive mistake to the extent of heating the mother and give chance to death. This makes me so sad because mother is One not to when u miss it's over, no amount of anger or regret at the long run can solve what had happened. From Mother's latter, she stood her ground as a mother,still love and forgive the so no matter what. This is a story that all should listen and learn lesson, that a"A stitch in time serves nine."
