Hi. Here is my short lesson on saying and understanding dates and the difference between British and American English or generally from L2 non-native speakers who use one of two methods to write days and months. It's important to know both methods to avoid confusion, and I give an important tip when writing dates in correspondence.
Thanks for watching!

If i use the US format, should I should I put "in or on" before the month? Thanks
@FanetikStudio
@FanetikStudio 6 лет назад
English with TJ Laos write "ON". We just write IN when writing only the month, for example "07,2018" is wroten "in July, 2018".

We start with day / month / year just like the British people and I bet, like everyone else other than Americans! So, apparently it's Americans who want to be JUST different :D and mind asking about the accent?! I do like the British Accent(S) in general :) Thanks for sharing & keep them coming...

Why Two Thousand and Fourteen and not Twenty Fourteen
@FanetikStudio
@FanetikStudio 6 лет назад
George Collins both ways are ok
@EightThreeEight

@@FanetikStudio The latter option would probably be better. After all, saying "One-thousand, nine-hundred and eighty-four" is much more tedious that just saying "nineteen eighty-four".
