I'm an intermediate English learner. I often watch your educational/useful video. Would you mind if I ask you a question? timing = 9:28. if you're excited about a concert, you might say, "I'm so thrilled, I can't wait to see my favorite band perform!" In this sentence, is period not needed or needed grammatically at the end of sentence? Would It be 'no big deal' at all?

I'm an intermediate English learner. Thank you for your educational/useful video. Would you mind if I ask you a question? timing = 6:24. 'if your friend is moving to a new house, you might offer to help carry boxes to lend a hand.', in this caption I feel the phrase 'to lend' should be 'lending' I can accept genuinely next sentence. 'if your friend is moving to a new house, you might offer to help carry boxes lending a hand.'. For native the difference would be 'no big deal' at all?
@EnglishEasyPractice

Thank you for your keen observation! You're absolutely right that "lending a hand" can indeed work in the sentence, and both versions convey the same helpful intent. Language is a fascinating realm where nuances can sometimes be subtle, and variations like these are part of the colorful tapestry of English. Keep those eagle eyes on language details, and you'll continue to excel in your English journey! 🌟📚

1. I accidentally broke my mother's vase this morning. Sie said "don't worry, it's not as a expensive vase as you thought - no big deal!" 2. I am not really sure what time the train would arrive. I say to her "it would arrive at 4.30 pm - just take a guess". 3. Marta lends a hand to me to take some photographs. 4. "We laugh and agree on that agreement - it's a done deal!'' 5. My friend told me about the politic news that I don't get interested in it. I say to him that ''sorry, I'm completely in the dark about that news''. 6. We can't wait to come to the welcoming party next week.

Great examples, thanks for sharing. I just made a few corrections here: 1. I accidentally broke my mother's vase this morning. She said, "Don't worry, it's not as a expensive vase as you thought - no big deal!" 2. I am not really sure what time the train will arrive. I said to her "It would arrive at 4.30 pm - just take a guess". 3. Marta lends a hand to me to take some photographs. 4. "We laugh and agree on that agreement - it's a done deal!'' 5. My friend told me about the political news that I don't get interested in it. I said to him ''Sorry, I'm completely in the dark about that news''. 6. We can't wait to come to the welcoming party next week.

Used to encourage someone not to worry about a small mistake/ used to reassure someonethat something isn't a major issue-no big deal .eg. if you accidentally spill some coffee your friend might say- don't worry it's just a little spill no big deal To try to make a guess or estimate about something eg. If you're not sure how much Tim is left you could say I'm not sure but I'd say there's about 10 minutes left just take a guess To support or help someone especially in a difficult situation-lend a hand eg. If your friend is moving to a new house you might offer to help carry boxes to lend a hand Used to say that something is completely finished or no longer possible/ means something is finalized -its a done deal eg.if negotiation are successful you could say we agreed on the terms it's a done deal Used to say you don't understand something at all- I'm completely in the dark eg. If your friend is talking about a new TV show you're never heard of you might say sorry I'm completely in the dark about the show
