Little trivia. French days are named after planets (but monday and sunday) Lundi - Lune (moon) Mardi - Mars Mercredi - Mercure Jeudi - Jupiter Vendredi - Venus Samedi - Saturne Dimanche - Day of the Lord

Same as most other languages including English. Monday "Moon's day", Tuesday "Tiw's day" (Tiw is Mars", Wednesday "Odin's day" (Odin is mercury), Thursay "Thor's day' (Thor is Jupiter), Friday "Frigg's day" (Frigg is Venus), Saturday "Saturn's day", Sunday. Exactly the same in Hindi, and many other languages. They were all adopted from the Roman empire.
