I'm a riffle/bridger who then overhands and finally cuts the deck. I use the corner riffle for bigger decks and don't bridge, but I still do overhand after I've riffled. Great video Ethony!
For the over and under- you don’t have to use your thumb you could just throw them in the other hand/ catch them without the extra thumb. If you like getting jumpers this helps. Thanks for your video love your decks!
I cut 3 ways, put together. Reverse half, put together. Pull some from the middle and do over under. Some more from the middle and over under. 3 or 4 times. Go back to beginning, start over. Until I feel like they're shuffled enough.
What about light seer's or other cards that are way too thick? It's literally like trying to shuffle bricks 🤦🏽♀️ also I have small hands 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️- it's also made me neglect certain decks vs smaller decks in my collection which is bad coz I want to use all of them.
Hi Darling, some of these methods will make it easier to shuffle the harder cardstock, I find when I do an angled riffle shuffle, that always works for me. You could easily washing machine those decks also, it's about what works best for you! Having small hand makes it tougher BUT you just gotta adapt:) hope this helped
I'm better at the poker shuffle method, but if you are working with reversals and want to ensure a good mixture of upright and reversed cards, is there a good way to do that with the poker shuffling method?
When you cut the deck in half, turn them upside down. Then shuffle, and if you want, you can do this process again to ensure you've got a good mix of reversals and uprights.
Thank you so much for showing the edge riffle shuffle! I can riffle and bridge shuffle perfectly, but I have tiny hamster hands, so it's pretty hard for me to shuffle some of these larger/thicker decks (especially the Modern Witch Tarot). I feel like riffling is the best way to shuffle so I'm gonna start practicing the edge method, thanks!

In my the tradition of my Ancestor's it is considered disrespectful to do anything other than the over hand shuffle, it belittles their Sacred purpose as it is associated with gambling.

I like to use the riffle shuffle on cards that are thin enough. But what I also do is take a few cards off the top and put them either on the bottom or somewhere else in the deck between each riffle. Otherwise, the cards you start out with on the top tend to stay on the top. I do the washing machine to start with, though, to ensure I've got some reversed cards as well as uprights. And sometimes I add in the 'stacks' as well, just to ensure that the card order is scrambled. I always clear my cards after each reading by putting them back in original order, so this stacking thing is important for me. I sometimes use the over/under method, but for some reason the readings don't work as well for me when I do that. Strange. I can get them shuffled okay, but the readings don't tend to jump out at me as being correct.

Awesome tips! I’m a good shuffler with normal cards but my hands are small and these cards are BIG lol I like the over and under now, using your thumb really helps instead of just letting the cards fall everywhere 😅

My hands are too small for regular riffle shuffling so I do the corner thing too, unfortunately this bends the cards corners 😭 I'm going to try the other methods.
Hlo dear can u please tell that aftef completing the reading while winding up everything do i have to set cards in order ? Or i can wind up the shuffled cards and put them in the box?
This is a great question Daisy! There are two options I can think of for this, the first being a card shuffling machine! The only problem is there are no Tarot card size shuffling machines, so what I would recommend is try to find one of those, and then see what the card dimensions have to be and then try to find a Tarot deck in those specs, or even trim the edges of a previous deck if it's not that much? Another option is the washing machine, where you just mess everything about, or an alternative to this is just throwing all your cards and then picking them up, but I'm not sure if you are able to do this. I truly wish I could help more, but I hope this helped!

THANK U i have wanted to learn how to shuffle cards for years but could never get cards to like mesh ig, itd be like trying to fit to rocks together XD BUT i can actually mange to do the one with the thumb! and its also good cuz its quieter then smth like the riffle and i live with some people who uh wouldnt really like it if they knew i did tarot lol

I do two ways. When I first get my cards out I do the second piles method to shuffle them into equal upright and reversals while thinking of my intention for a reading. Then I do the over and under thing. 😅
@@tracinickerson307 I personally think the the over under scratches the edges more, but the way I look at it is, these are tools to be used, so they're not going to stay in perfect condition when you use them every day!
I tried to learn how to bridge from light seers tarot, bad news bears lol. I also practiced on an RWS beginner tarot deck & tarot of the divine in which many a card got mangled (except for tarot of the divine.) Currently I’ve been practicing on an old stack of trimmed uno cards as I don’t want to keep ruining decks and for me I have such difficulty bridging as I bend the cards too upwards I believe. Practice makes progress however and this video is a great show & tell, so Ty darling! Btw, can’t wait for the Cosmic Wisdom Tarot. 🤍

i love your content on tarot i been doing tarot for years and so affraid of reading them the wrong way so i use the book i get alot of friends ask me about love aned relationship and most decks dont have the meaning for that kind of readin until you made your bad bitches tarot deck which i am so much in love with would love to buy another deck that you made

My Modern Love Cards are big, but the card stock is not as firm as others, which definitely makes them easier to shuffle, and they glide gorgeously. Thanks for watching!

100% yes, depending on the card stock, the card type, the finish (matte vs. glossy) all impact how easy it is to shuffle, and the type of shuffling method you decide to choose may have to change!
