You are one of the 2 coloring artists I have subscribed to. I look forward to watching your videos. This video is perfect for a beginner like me. I like how the video shows the colors you use and also your video did not have any empty talk, talk, talk just what was necessary for us to learn and pick up tips. Thanks for this video. Time to get my pencils out.

I just discovered you & I love this video! You have a very clear & concise way of explaining what you’re doing & why you’re doing it. I still colour very much like a child - mostly very flat & one colour. I’m starting to learn about highlights & shading, but can’t quite get it to stick in my brain (I have learning difficulties). But this video was really helpful, I look forward to watching more on your channel. By the way, what is the music? It’s very relaxing! 💜

I know you may not see this comment, since the video is three years old, but I have to tell you how much your videos have helped me to immediately improve. I just started with adult coloring - I’ve only completed one page, and I’m now working on my second page. I have never been “artistic,” so I didn’t think I could achieve the beautiful realistic looking images that I have seen others use. I didn’t think I had an eye for highlighting and shading and layering and blending. I binge-watched a bunch of your videos over the last week, got a few books (including this one), the 150 set of Prismacolors, the Prismacolor blending pencil, and a good sharpener, and I decided to dive in and not be afraid to try. To my amazement, my first page looked pretty good! Not perfect by any means, as I still need to practice my shadowing and highlighting and all that, but tons better than I ever imagined. I decided to work on a page from this book next (not the page you are working on in this video), as it had apples and other fruit. I followed along with the apples section of this video, and I was so proud of the results! The apples had highlights and shadows and layered colors, just like yours! And I was able to apply the same techniques to other fruits on the page - green apples, small strawberries and even some clusters of tiny grapes. So, a HUGE thank you! Your amazing teaching skills have helped this “non-artist” feel like an artist. I’m even going to try drawing an apple from scratch, like your other video.

Hi Lynda! So happy to read this comment! It's stories like this that make me so happy to be a part of the RU-vid coloring community :) I'm delighted and proud that you dove in without fear and are giving coloring a go! Just a few tips (if I may) for happiness in your coloring journey... 1) don't compare your work to others, your work is uniquely your own! 2) always keep learning; and 3) don't be afraid to try new things, its just paper! :) Happy New Year - make 2021 amazing!

Thanks for reminding me about the bronze pencil. I don't often think to use it but will have to try it as you did. I was also glad to see you coloring the wine bottle bottoms--I think it would have taken me a long time to figure out what they were. Now to figure out what all the little things are in all the jars. The one next to the basket on the shelf with the pumpkins--looks to me like giant wood ticks!

The bronze is quickly becoming one of my favorite colors! Its a bit more gold than the gold! Yeah... the jars are stumping me a bit, too. Might be why I'm subconsciously putting them off, haha!

Really want to get this book but still working my way through the the first one and the 10 other books I have still yet to even start, so I have banned myself from buying any more colouring books, lol! Clare Birschel , I put off buying Enchanted Forest for the same reasons and recent went to buy it and I couldn't find it in any store, including book stores and I had to order it online and paid too much for it I'll never wait again, so you might want to be careful. I do have one question...lol. Have you tried oil based colored pencils? I saw that you had tried many different wax based ones, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on the Marco Raffine oil based pencils. I love their translucent quality and ability to layer color with the underlayers showing better than the wax based pencils I've used. Thanks again!

This was really eye opening for me! I'm still very much a newbie to colouring, (although not a newbie to buying every colouring book I see!), so anything I can see helps so much. I do have a question though. What pencil sharpener do you use? Your pencils are so nice and sharp and mine never turn out that way. I have an electric one, a Prismacolor one, and I think a Stadetler. (sp). And which one do you feel is the best? Thanks in advance!

I’m really into this video-I’m relatively new to adult coloring. It’s a way to de-stress while creating art. I’ve barely started watching you work but I have one criticism at just 4 minutes in. The piano music you chose to accompany the video is grating on my ears like nails on a chalk board or biting into tin foil! It’s VERY distracting and I’ll miss a lot of your comments because I’ll be turning the volume to zero. I subscribed and liked-mostly liked anyway. 🥴
