I love the way you teach, explaining the why's and the how's, with all the nuances you need and little to start with: a simple 3-string pattern. It's awesome. The transition from C to G7 is not easy. I get there by anticipating: I play the 4th beat of the 1st measure and simultaneously I prepare the 1st note of the 2nd measure (it would take a drawing). Thanks!

I am slow at fingerpicking due to my 2 crocket little fingers and so I like to strum and play with nice songs like "Let's Dance" "It must be Love" " Hallelujah" Norah
What if my uuk is low G? I spent a lot of time on your other fingerpicking lesson one, from ten years ago, and you didn't mention lowG. Now I found this new version of pattern #1. I'm willing to give you a try. BUT Please fill in the gap. thanks
Hey Vittoret, great question! Because we're just focused on the bottom three strings for now, low G isn't a big factor and any technique you learn and practice from this lesson is very applicable to fingerpicking a low G ukulele! Where low G becomes more of a factor is for ukulele arrangements arranged for high-g where the melody note is played on the top high g-string - for this, it's more difficult to play from these high-g arrangements on a low-G ukulele. However 9/10 of my arrangements place the melody note on the bottom A-string to make it easier for low G players to join along, which makes these arrangements compatible with low-G tuned ukuleles. I encourage you to learn along with me with your low G ukulele and if you have any questions that come up just let me know!

This is a great place to start, Kanji! Remember fingerpicking is always going to require more practice and time than just strumming out some chords, but by taking time over this next week just working on this pattern, I know you'll be able to make progress with your fingerpicking in small steps!
I have enjoyed all your videos but still have issues applying all what i've learned. Trying to take it slow and remember tips like good, relaxed posture while also keeping the beat is a lot but I am in no rush. I find I have difficulty keeping the right pressure balance between hands so when I go to change chords fingers stick to the strings since I am holding them a bit too tightly.
Hey, Dee Dee, how long have you been playing ukulele? If you just started (like this week), as a fellow dominant left-hander myself, I'd suggest learning to play "right-hand" where you use the left hand to fret chords and right hand to pick/strum. Use of both your dominant and non-dominant hands is required, so there will be a learning curve no matter which way you decide to go. That said, if you've already been playing for a few weeks or months now left handed, then, I wouldn't switch now - the fretting hand positions will just be a mirror of my fingers on screen and you'll use the exact same fingers to pick the strings of this pattern. You can do it!
Please don't take this as an insult its absolutely not i just found it a little funny but i absolutely enjoy your videos. Anyways i think it's mostly about how you talk but you remind me of the teacher from the cartoon Beavis and Butthead who always had on the peace ☮ sign T-shirt he would often play his guitar and sing in the cartoon as well. Anyways again please don't take this as negative or anything i enjoy your videos very much i just thought this was a little funny how you remind me of that character from that cartoon.🎼🪕👍✌☮
