Brushes: 1/2 inch flat bristle (large), #4 round synthetic (medium), #1 round synthetic (small)
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, mars black, burnt umber (brown), deep yellow, ultramarine blue, fire red
Other: white chalk, 9 inch paper plate, palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint the background with black, blue and white
2. chalk and paper plate - Draw outline of Santa's hand and ornament
3. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint 1st layer of hand and arm with red, white, black and brown
4. #4 round brush - Paint outline of ornament with dark blue (made in step 1) and white
5. #1 round brush - Paint string on ornament with red, yellow and white
6. #1 round and 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint snow on ground and trees with gray (mixed in step 3), brown, white and black
7. #4 round brush - Finish hand and wrist with gray, brown, black and white
8. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Finish sleeve with black, red, brown, gray and white
9. #1 round brush - Paint dog, bird, shadows and snow with brown, yellow, white, black and red
10. #4 round and 1/2 inch bristle brush - Finish ornament with gray, white, red, black and tan (made in step 9)
11. #1 round brush - Sign with black
