Thank you Michelle, for giving such good detailed step by step instructions. You are so talented. You make your videos easy to follow. I can’t wait to try this painting.
I followed your tutorial step by step Michelle & want to say a huge thank you for your free art therapy which helped in my time of need.. I completed this project in a day & must say I was impressed with my end result. Big thanks to you for your talent & patience in teaching us..
I've been following your art tutorials for a long time and even tried my hand at some of them. This tutorial certainly challenged my abilities to say the least. But to my surprise it came out better than I expected. I even added some sea kelp and sea grass in the background which really made the turtle pop right off the canvas. You are by far the best tutorial artist out there. Your step by step instructions make it so easy to create your visions. Thank you so much for sharing your talent. Wish I can share my version of Tropical Turtle with you.
Hi Joyce, thank you so much for watching my videos and I am happy to hear that you are proud of your paintings. I have two Facebook pages where people post their paintings with me. One is a public page for my business "Berkshire Paint and Sip" and the other is a private page called "Michelle's Painting Group". In the private group there are additional art lessons, monthly contests, live classes with me and so much more. If you're interested in gaining access to the private group, you can visit my patreon page at the link below. I'd love to see your painting!
Going to for sure do this one! I like anything sea animals! If it were not for you, I would not even be painting! You are the best! Drawing direction and painting!!
A friend and I painted this last night. Neither of us are very experienced and we were concerned with so much detail on face and shell it would be difficult. With cold weather coming we wanted to think of the warm Caribbean waters and this was perfect. Your instruction was so clear and detailed that we were able to achieve paintings that we were proud to have. We had some difficult with face details but that was due to working on only an 11x14 canvas so that was our fault but your instruction helped us achieve a great end result. Thank you so much. Since taking early retirement a few years ago I have been trying to find something to do with my time so I took up painting (I did attend Paintnites prior). I have watched many tutorials by many different artists and yours by far are the easiest to follow with great results. I will be a Patreon. Thank you!
I just want to tell you, Michelle is my daughter's name. Spanish is my native language, and I've just subscribed your Channel because of your thecniques, the pedagogical way you explain and the clear understandable English you use. You know many Americans speak as if they were chewing gum, and it is so hard to understand... Thanks a lot for all of this. Your Channel is spectacular...

I really love your painting!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜 Seascapes are my favorite subject to paint! I really like how you made the sun Ray's shining down into the water. Thank you for such wonderful tips & instructions! You are so talented!!! 🥰🥰🥰
My wife loves turtles so I tried my hand at painting this for her. Your tutorial is very good and easy to follow. I did it over several days as I had time so doing a segment at a time worked for me. I'm a real novice at this but I am pleased at how it came out!
Love your paintings! I tried this one and gave it to my mom for Mother’s Day. She loved it! I have to admit I was proud of myself. Thanks for the confidence. ❤️
Thanks so much for this awesome tutorial...😁🤗 I just came back from a months vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii..I snorkeled with turtles at our favorite beach..I’m going to give this painting a try..😁🤗
Wow!!!... this tropical turtle looks sooo real 😃👍a very beautiful animal in the ozean.... its an amazing picture, great job, dear Michelle!!! I am so happy that i found you as teacher 👍👍👍
May l ask: what’s the name of the brand of paint you’re using? I, for the most part ,paint with Amsterdam and some Liquitex. Those are both a lot less liquid than your student grade paint😁
@@michellethepainter. Thank you Michelle, so much, for answering my question💚. I will first find out if they sell it here in Norway 🇳🇴. If not, try and order it online👍. Looks so much easier to cover, and do the background to paintings😁👍
Hi there. I am learning a lot from your videos. I am making paintings for my family and my son had a pet turtle I am working on. Could you make a video with a pet turtle looking out the window in the rain or on a pond? Turtle was a brown small turtle. He loved grass. Thank you.
Hi Brenda, I'm glad you like my videos. I've done many underwater paintings that may be able to help you with what you're trying to do for your son. You can find them on my channel in the Marine and Waterlife Playlist here: ru-vid.com/group/PLoZt5VmR4w5__Zhz9zfXhKSr3WGremLZD&si=9NT6k5bAM69JEu5X Have fun painting!
This is probably a dumb question but what do you do to prime your canvass? I am brand spanking new to painting but I like your paintings so much I want to attempt a few of them. I bought some cheapy canvas, paint and brushes to practice with but I don't about the priming part.
Hi Shirly, I don't prime my canvases. I buy all mine already primed. It's easier for me considering how much I paint. A primed canvas means that the raw canvas has been treated to allow for paint to adhere to it. Most canvasses that you buy from the store these days, or online, are already primed when you buy them. If you are purchasing raw canvas, than you will want to put a layer of primer on the side that you want to paint. There is a product called Gesso, that is specifically designed to be a good adhesion primer for art canvasses. If the canvas you have is white on one side and tan on the other side, than it is already pre-primed, if it is tan on both sides than it is raw. I hope this info helps. Have fun painting!
@@michellethepainter. yes yes it does. I’m thrilled that you took the time to answer my question. I have all white canvases with tan backs that are on a frame. I have 5x7 flat ones that came with a ‘starter kit. I didn’t want to attempt one of your beautiful and imaginative paintings on an unprepared canvass. You remind me of Bob Ross. I love how, as you work, I intently watch you and when I see what looks like a mistake, you casually incorporate it or show how to remove it. That’s what I needed. I’ve always been terrified to start because I don’t know what to do if I make a mistake. Now I do. You’ve taught me that it’s not really a mistake. Thank you and thank you for your channel.
Hi Cinn Amon, For these tutorials I'm using a thin bodied student grade paint from Blick Materials called Blickrylics. They don't have the best pigment, but I like the consistency for layering and blending affects. I sell small sample sizes of the colors I use on my website (link below) if you want to try them before you invest in the larger bottles. Have fun painting! ~Michelle berkshirepaintandsip.squarespace.com/shop
