What about open chords? What blues mans use? Is it possible do it with bass guitar?
@ebassguitar
@ebassguitar Год назад
Open chords will often sound quite muddy… we’ve got a free bass guitar chord pdf on a lesson called how to play chords on the bass guitar on RU-vid

Love the content, but why choose a chromatic approach note up to root chord only the first measure.

Just ease of fingering…

Shouldn't the D7 chord be a minor chord?
@davidreichert9392
@davidreichert9392 Год назад
In terms of theory the G7 should also be minor and the F7 should be a maj7. But the funny thing about jazz is that you can stick a dominant 7 chord pretty much anywhere and it still works. Sometimes it works even better.
@jenserjenson4407
@jenserjenson4407 Год назад
If we think ionian mode or simply F major, it should be a Dminor7 and Fmaj7. G7 instead of Gmin7 is fine because dominant 7 Chords ar often used as way to get to the Chords it naturally dissolves to, in this case C7 (5th of F so we land at our homebase). Pretty sure James is aware of that and here offers us an easy to approach path to the complicated language of jazz because using the chords he suggested, our second and third finger always stay the same :)
@ebassguitar
@ebassguitar Год назад
Absolutely dominants can often be substituted in… and you’ll get the descending tritone patterns which sound great!
