Chinese here too but my ethnicity is Han. And I didn’t know much about minority ethnic groups of my country until I met some friends from Kazakhstan. They are my motivation to learn Kazakh

I'm an American learning Kazakh mostly for fun. I already know Cyrillic (Russian is my second best language), and I have to say, I actually really prefer Kazakh Cyrillic over the new Latin version. It feels more intuitive and easy to read for me, and I think it looks a lot cooler too. Just my opinion, ultimately I can read both perfectly fine.

Some people are more exited to new or unique (things you dont see in daily life) things, thats probably why you prefer the Cyrillic alphabet. Thats why it looks cooler. Lol

Which resources are you using? Are you studying from Russian? It's so difficult to find some resources without knowing either Russian or Turkish!

Thank you that is very useful! Would you consider making a video about how to write the letters? I've never written cyrillic but i assume the letters look different when they're handwritten than when they're on the computer (also i'd like to make sure the latin alphabet is handwritten the same way i usually write haha)

As an half Kazakh and half polish, I never had opportunity to learn Kazakh because only my grandparents could speak Kazakh but they forgot almost all, bc of really hard times.

Something I realized, is that O is pronounced as "UO/WO", Ö as "UÖ" and Ū as "OH" , from the point of view of a Spanish Speaker. Could you explain more the different vowel sounds of Qazaqşa? Gracias y si tienes dudas sobre Español y puedo ayudar, acá estoy! saludos desde Chile!

Thank you very much. I have two questions. First, is this version of Latin alphabet the final one? And secondly is there any letter for y sound (as in yellow) in Kazakh latin alphabet? Salem from Turkey.

Thank you for your comment) Until is not fully operative it can have little variations. Turkish Y is E in Kazakh. I also live in Turkey. I recently moved to Istanbul ))

Hello, I found out that there are some Kazakh cyrillic letters which are not really for Kazakh latin scripts. For example: ё = io, but not yo. ң = ñ, but not ŋ. и, й = İ i and І і = I ı. өрік = örık (it should be apricot, but not plum). чемодан (it is a Russian word) and Kazakh word should be шабадан (şabadan). ч = ch but not ç. щётка = şchiotka but not şyotka (щ = şch). Экскаватор should be iekskavator. (э = ie.). ю = iu, but not yu. я = ia, but not ya. подъезд (it is a Russian word). It should be кіреберіс (kıreberıs). Thıs means porch in English. I found out that there is a new Latin script converse from Kazakh cyrillic letters website. The new Kazakh latin scripts are from April 2021. Here is a link: www.transliteration.kpr.eu/kk/kk-2021.php I think there are confusing new latin scripts. In January 2021, a new revision of the Kazakh Latin alphabet was presented, introducing the letters Ä ä (Ə ə), Ö ö (Ө ө), Ü ü (Ү ү), Ğ ğ (Ғ ғ), Ū ū (Ұ ұ), Ŋ ŋ (Ң ң), and Ş ş (Ш ш), bringing it even closer to the CTA. A subsequent revision on 22 April further narrowed this gap by changing Ŋ ŋ to Ñ ñ. This version will be officially implemented starting 2023. Here is a link of a new Kazakh latin alphabet from April 2021: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazakh_alphabets#/media/File:2021.4_Kazakh_Latin_alphabet_table_-_RU.svg
