Learning Korean is learning Korean culture. If you learn seemile Korean, you will understand Kpop lyrics without translation, and you will be able to watch Korean dramas and movies without subtitles. I understand and feel the songs of the Bulletproof Boys (BTS). Start learning with Korean with "seemile Korean".
The "seemile Team" also released app to learn Chinese (Mandarin).
→ "seemile Chinese" app android play.google.co...
→ "seemile Chinese" iPhone(iPad) app itunes.apple.c...

She is a great teacher. Some of these sentences I wish were explained a bit more. It seems like she skips a lot of things because they are explained in a later lesson, but it make the sentences a bit more hard to understand. Really appreciate you loading these, they are very helpful.

Doubt at 18:25 ‘To eat’ is written is 먹다 In the sentence 빵을 먹었습니다. 배가 부릅니다 , 먹다 is in PAST TENSE Now when we convert it to casualty, we change 먹었습니다 to ‘먹어서’ My question is how do Korean people determine the tense of that word 먹어서 or be it any verb to whom we attach the casualty 아/어/여서 Example: Consider this sentence ‘I will have eaten my lunch so i will be full.’ ( I can’t write this sentence in Korean yet) In this sentence 먹다 will be written as ‘먹을 거여요’ i.e its in future tense But now when we apply casualty expression, it will be changed to ‘먹어서’ (All the examples Miss Jenny has taught in this lesson has different tenses but the final casualty expression of that verb after attaching 아/어/여서 is same for any tense) So here the tense is undetermined. How to clear this confusion pls tell

Hello and Hi. As it said verb stem ending with 아 or 오 vowel it indicates ㅏ서 form will attach on lesson 12(13:08). Why that 아픕니다, which is have a verb stem of 아프, and therefore the verb stem vowel ending is ㅡ, but why it became 아파서 in lesson 12(14:50)? Instead of 아프ㅓ서... May i ask Maam Jenny if what you mean by a verb stem that ending in a vowel? For my example correct me if i am a wrong; ♥마시다 the verb stem that ending vowel is ㅣ thats why 어 서 form is will be attach. ♥아프다 the verb stem that ending vowel is ㅡ,. This is not ending in ㅏ or ㅓ vowel. So perhaps ㅓ서 form is will be attach. I am keen to learn why that in Lesson 12(14:50) 아프다 is became 아파서? Instead of 아프 ㅓ서. What is the formula for this? Thank you so much. Hoping for your more concern. More power and God bless.

ErlJenny Vampire okay so basically, in korean they go by whatever sounds best....that's why in 마시다....when the verb stem 마시 is combined with 어, the rule states tht it should've been 마시어, but Koreans found tht awkward to pronounce, so if u notice tht if u say "마시어" 5 times fast, it sounds like "마셔" which is the correct way to conjugate it. Same thing goes for 아프다, after u add 어 to it, it becomes really difficult to pronounce. so they decided to remove the "ㅡ" sound entirely when conjugating, that means that the last vowel now becomes "ㅏ" , so we add "아" to the ending. same thing goes for 바쁘다 (to be busy), it becomes 바빠요.....hope this helps 😊😊
@buramiko
@buramiko 7 лет назад
ErlJenny Vampire it is an irregular conjugation for verbs ending in ㅡ, you just remove the ㅡ when you need to conjugate with a vowel I.e. 어 for more info check out here www.howtostudykorean.com/unit1/unit-1-lessons-1-8/unit-1-lesson-7/korean-irregulars-quick-reference/
@MelleZola
@MelleZola 7 лет назад
This verb 아프다 is a irregular verb because it's ending by ㅡ vowel. In this case, we see the vowel before ㅡ which is ㅏ . Therfore -아서 is attached. 아프/ is the verb sterm. for 마시다, we use this rule ; if the verb stem ends with 아 or 오 vowel ㅏ서 form will attach , if we have another vowel ㅓ서 form will attach. (exclude ㅡ) Hope this answer ur question .

Thanks for your useful lession. I have a question. What is the different between (으)ㄹ 거다 (taught in the previous lession) and 겠? Thanks in advanced. 갑사해요!
@itsokay4192
@itsokay4192 9 лет назад
Based on what I heard/learned. There isn't much difference between the two, both means 'will' but (으)ㄹ 거가 is frequently used in korean daily lives, in their speeches, it is spoken language. While 겄다 is more used in written, in literatures like novels/drama/movies. So it is a written language. Something like that, please correct me if I'm wrong thanks.

@nicoleabrahao1026
@nicoleabrahao1026 4 года назад
와서 gives the sentence causality, as in "because of that". So when we say 비가 와요 we're just saying "it's raining", but when you say 비가 와서, you're then saying "because it's raining". As in her example: "I'm not going to the picnic because it's raining".

She keeps on changing the sentences from the original version when analyzing them one at a time. See the difference between sentence number 2 at 0:45 and what should be the same sentence at 1:58. I wonder whether there is a mistake in the original sentence, considering that it contains the verb "give," which makes perfect sense in sentence number 3 but seems totally out of place in sentence number 2. Any comment/help is appreciated.

When the last letter of the stem is a ㅡ, the vowel added depends on the one in the syllable before the one with ㅡ. In 아프다 the syllable that comes before 프 is 아. It has an ㅏ, so ㅏ is the vowel added, replacing the ㅡ. 아파요.
