I probably like listening to Niall or Louis voice and accent most but i love all the boys accents and how that talk at different speeds

Since no one's saying Zayn, on behalf of Zquad, I'll say that I enjoyed Zayn's a lot :)

What I hear at "th" are intermediate sounds formed somewhere at front of alveolar ridge with somewhat flattened tongue tip. They doesn't sound exactly like southern t/d or th/th. It feels like each of them is just a single sound on its own with deviation that happen to cross southern phonemes boundaries.

I was waiting for "Chonce" sound. Hahaha but thank you Tom!

Niall's accent sounds like American to me. I don't speak English and I understand what he saying the most than the rest of 1D members. I mean, his pronunciation is clear, not too thick like most British people do.

I noticed he said sunglasses with a /ʊ/ but sunny right after that sounded closer to a /u/ I haven't noticed that in other people with Irish accents, so I don't know if it's an Irish accent thing or it's him being influenced by the other boys who have that northern British accent He also pronounces the final Ls as /l/ as opposed to many other accents that say /w/ instead

Thanks so much! May I suggest taking a look at the two Carpool Karaoke clips that Harry Styles did with James Corden? The first was mid-2017 and the second one was filmed in late 2019. It would be interesting to compare and contrast their accents. A stand alone analysis of James Corden’s accent would be good as well. My sense is that both Harry and James have “lost” their original accents due to spending a lot of time in the US. Quick note about altering your accent - I was raised by a dad with a neutral US accent, a mother from Atlanta, lived in Houston for most of my life and now have lived in Virginia for 20 years. My accent is heavily influenced by other people or situations. If I am talking to someone with a prominent US southern accent, I will go right into speaking with one as well. If I am giving a professional presentation, I make sure to neutralize my accent and remove the “southernisms”.

As a 1D fan from Philippines, I would say that it is super amazing... and I love it to hear all of them. All of them was my favorites but Louis Tomlinson's accent is my most favorite all the time...

So interesting!! I’m Mexican and my pronunciation is mainly from our neighbors up north. I happen to have excellent English. I’m not bragging, I studied in an international school and, before retiring due to health issues a person my age shouldn’t have, I taught all my classes in English and even have an American masters degree in education. Listening to all the 1D boys, the most difficult to the least difficult (to understand) is Niall’s, then Zayn, Louis, Liam’s and the clearest since the beginning is Harry’s. Now, how Niall pronounces his “r’s” is exactly how we pronounce them carrr, correrrrr, etc. You can tell someone is foreign because of the “r” Now, I understand what happen to his accent. At school I had an 85% of American teachers, 10% British teacher and the last 5 % to Irish, Canadian and kiwi accents. It’s funny because no one in the states can figure out from which part of the US I am (Mexican lol) but in Europe, since English is the language everyone speaks at least a little, people think I’m American (which means a bit of mistreat particularly from the French and the British, lol. This immediately changes when they listen to my fast Spanish talking with my dad, explaining. Then they think we are Spanish and I say nope, Mexico 🇲🇽

If funny how learners of English are constantly corrected by their teacher for using /d/ instead of /th/ in they or /t/ in think but in different English accent native speakers do actually pronounce these sounds like that 🤯😅

I've noticed when a "t" comes at the end of a word, Irish people don't quite pronounce it, or don't pronounce it all the way. It's not the glottal stop, it's different.
