Voice: So here's the basics of sanding and filling scratches in plastic bumpers. First, we've got to clean the bumper. I like to use glass cleaner first...[robert cleans with glass cleaner], then I wipe with a towel wettened with wax and grease remover and follow up with a dry towel [robert wipes wet..then dry].
Now we've got scuff everywhere paint might possibly land to ensure it's going to stick and create a durable repair. As a general rule, you should scuff 2 feet in every direction from the damage [robert scuffs 2 feet in every direction.
First, try to sand them out completely with your D/A sander and 80 grit sandpaper.

Voice: I can feel that the lighter scratches are out completely, but the deeper scratches remain because I can pick at them with my fingernail. So I'm going to have to fill these low spots with filler.

Voice: Lay out a dab of filler and an even smaller dab of hardener. You want to mix about 10 parts filler to 1 part hardener. Mix it up with your bondo spreader until it's all one color--in this case pink because of our red filler.

And we'll just spread it lightly over these deep cuts and give it about 10 minutes to harden.

Wrap 220 grit sandpaper around a foam block and sand out the filler. You might have to pause and clean up your sandpaper with compressed air ocassionally.
