Yes -- you could perhaps say the word/phrase in Polish 3/4 times with a space for repetition but no text. The lack of text forces the student to listen without preconceived ideas about how the letters sound. Then introduce text -- by this time they'll really be wondering what it means! Then give the meaning -- I believe people remember things better when they've wondered about them first. Of course, it's only my idea, it might be rubbish! Thank you for your video -- I love learning Polish.

Thanks! Several people pointed this volume issue. I figured out a way to make it louder. The recent videos are louder. I think I will re-post the first lessons with increased volume. Regards!

Thanks for the comment :) I am a self taught english speaker so I do not really know all the rules. Using "a", "an" and "the" is quite tricky for me :)

Most people do learn English at school. For some reason in my school half of the kids has been learning German instead (against our will in fact) and I was in this half :). I learned English by watching movies, computer games and traveling.

The thing is that I do not speak German... I only understand some of it. And English I learned in "the meantime" or "by accident" and probably because I needed it to enjoy movies and PC games.

Hello, this is due to "cases". Nominative (mianownik) = who? what? (is this) kawa. example -> to jest kawa = this is coffee Accusative (biernik) = who? what? (am I looking at) kawę. example -> mam kawę = I have a coffee I hope this helps

Well, "chęć" is not a verb, it is a noun. "masz" is a verb :) it is a form of "mieć" (to have) "co" is a pronoun and it has cases. denominator = "co" , genitive = "czego" It is not easy, Polish grammar in general seems to be more complicated than others. Here is an example of proper usage of "co" and "czego": "to wszystko co masz" "to wszystko czego nie masz" Hope this halps :)

I think what I'm trying to ask is, why is it always using "co" for the other phrases, "to wszystko co masz?" "to wszystko co robisz?" but it's "to wszystko czego chcesz"? Why isn't it "to wszystko czego masz" or "to wszystko co chcesz?"

You made me look it up :) 1. the verb "chcieć" is governing the genitive 2. the pronoun "co" behaves unusually in this context 3. in the genitive form, this pronoun has two forms: "czego" and "co", 4. the form "co" which appears with the verb "chcieć", and only in the "common variant language". --> "to wszystko co chcesz?" is also correct in "common variant language" 5. Other verbs generally do not allow you to change "czego" to "co" example: correct = „Czego ci brakuje?”; incorrect = „Co ci brakuje?”

I think both would be acceptable. In this sentence "swój" is better. It is hard to explain cause "swój" has no equivalent in English :) But be careful, the meaning might be significantly different example: „Spotkał się ze swoją żoną” = He met with his wife and „Spotkał się z moją żoną” = He met with my wife :)

Two different words here :) JA: (JA jestem = I am) "mi" = "mnie" it is almost the same; simply use "mi" if something happened to you. "help me" = "pomóż mi" "mną" is used is is you describe something happening with you. "come with me" = "chodź ze mną" mój: (mój dom = my house) - "mojego" is just a case of "mój" "mego" = "mojego"; simply use "mojego"; it is used if you refer to something/someone that is yours. "come to my house" = "choć do mojego domu" You can use both in the same sentence: "Choć ze mną do mojego domu" = "come with me to my house" Hope this helps

Just the way it sounds good. Not all english can be easily 1 to 1 translated with the same words :) The way I did it here is referring to the day of 24 Dec being Christmas eve (the day is the subject). You can also say "wigilia jest dwudziestego czwartego grudnia" and then you would be reffering to the Christmas eve (Christmas eve is the subject), and explaining during which day od the month it is. Hope this makes sense :)

True, good point! This has been discussed in the comments i.e. under the video: Learn Polish - Unit 1 Lesson 8 - I want to go - polish for beginners :) there are different endings for feminine form (głodny = głodna; y--> a | byłem = byłam; łem --> łam)

There's no such word as impossible or can't. Remember when you were small and learning to talk, approach a new language like a child would. Mum, Dad, Hello, Goodbye, etc. You'll pick up the language in no time.
