Nice city. Not so pretty as it is industrial city. There is small center that is nice. But people are great. My advice is Tuzla before Sarajevo!!! Great thing is that cevapi shut down McDonalds and whole town was Red Star Belgrade fans in the past, nationalist party never win election etc. You can see just few examples of A/H heritage. Bad side is just table that call ALL Serbs as bad/facists. Which is insane and shameless even more if you know most of the Serbs had to leave and city itself has Serbian heritage but I guess it's politics and populist move I know most people don't support. Greetings from Belgrade.

Млада Босна т.е.

Hi there! Max teaches more advanced students of Russian. Yet, you can still listen to Max and Yulia with the subtitles if you listen to them because you love their topics, or if you simply love them. ))) You will still learn something anyway! for example, you can still use Max and Yulia videos as a A1-A2 learner if you plan A1-A2 level type of tasks like "I want to understand as many words as possible", "I want to understand the main topic and some subtopics". And after that, I want to remember "the words I think useful for me to know" from their dialogues/monologues.) Yet, if you want to find some similar types of channel for A2-B1, the content of which is, in my view, very good and interesting, try "Easy Russian" (It is made of series of street interviews of local Russians in Moscow) Here's an example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MzXkiK4ROhQ.html , but there are plenty of other channel too for A1-A2... You have to look for yourself and see what you like most, and what fits you best. If you are A1, you will need some basic knowledge of grammar and vocabulary that Fedor (channel "Be fluent in Russian") and other teachers can provide you with. Go with Fedor if you hate grammar: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-avzM-SUzYQE.html Or find another teacher on youtube if you are a more traditional type of grammar learner. We are all so different...I watch Fedor at times because he teaches some "non-standard Russian language" that I heard in songs, for example, but not only. Actually, vocabulary does not really have a "level"... it is the way you can use it that really makes the difference. So, I do not feel ashame to learn from A1-A2 channels as well at time if I find some topics useful. (But please, do not ask Max and Yulia to specifically make dialogues for A1-A2, because it is so rare to have Russian teachers online dedidacted to teach B2 and above levels! :) )

Hello Maxim and Julia! You're very interesting and I enjoy watching each of your videos. I have one small complaint, it's very insulting to say that Gavrilo Princip was a member of a terrorist organization. You're welcome here like everyone else, and we're very glad you're having a good time here, but it would be nice if you put accurate information in your videos, not information that tarnishes the history of the country that hosted you. Especially considering the fact that your compatriots are not currently welcome in any other country in Europe. All in all, Gavrilo Princip was a member of a liberation organization and someone who killed the emperor of an empire that treated this part of Europe as its colony. He is a hero for our people and country, not a terrorist. :)
@kolobara08

Gavrilo and liberation 🤣🤣 The only thing serbs "liberated" is the alienated Bosniak land given to freshly immigrated serbs to Bosnia. Gavrilo was the product used (misused) for serbian asperation on Bosnia. As much as Austro-Hungarians were colonist, they DID NOT take any land from the local population, nor did they oppress locals. If we were to put Austro-Hungarian rule side by side to the rule of Kingdome of Yugoslavia... one would almost establish that the German rule was a blessing in comparison to native Slavic serb and the karadjordjevic family.
@rogyn8484
@rogyn8484 Год назад
@@kolobara08 Maybe you forgot but just to remind you that members of Young Bosnia were also Chatolic Croats as well Bosnian Muslims, even the nobel prize winner Ivo Andrić was very close to them! Why would they all be against so called "empire" if they were treated nicely? Empire for which Slavic people were looked like a low scale humans. Not bealive me, then read chronicles of foregin travels in Bosnia from that time with Jajce story where one Muslim descrived how they treating local population. About liberation should l remind you that people in Sarajevo specifically muslims on the end of WW1 were crying for Serbian troops to enter in the city before any other army arrive? Should l remind you that Muslims welcomed Stepa Stepanović and his Serbian troops with flowers chanting Serbian songs or we will forget that event as well? How bad Muslims were in Kingdom of Yugoslavia it is enough to say that sam people of Sarajevo insist that same Stepa Stepanović been declared as honorary citizen and Stepa particularly liked Muslim population,not only this but they were giving names over the Serbian Medival heroes to many stuff and they were proud of it. Town of Split in 1918 for example declared that they will be independent if Split not join into future Serbian controlled territory, in Slovenia Italian troops were almost in front of Ljubljana where local citizens were baging small amount of Serbian troops to go there and stop them which they actually did by simply sending an ultimatum to Italians for retreating. Italians though that number of Serbian troops there were much larger so they moved back while in fect there were only 100s. All of this was good will of Serbia who could place border where they like and say we do not care for rest of you, you can be part of Hungary, Austria, Italy which you would be today like it or not if Serbs not arrived on locals demand!

@@rogyn8484 All you had to say is that it was a huge mistake... really, just that!? - and then you go on about Split, Italians, Ljubljana... everything that I don't very much care about since it has nothing to do with Bosnia. Let me be clear this time, since not much of what I said the first time you comprehended... I never said that Austrian rule was good, nor did I justify their occupation of Slavic nations. I do not salute their rule and I do not have any sympathy for them... all I said is that all in all, if we were to compare the positive and negative Austrians did & build & contributed in Bosnia and compare it to what brotherly Slavic Serbs rule did &build & contributed in Bosnia (from Bosniak point of view)... the Germanic Austrians were a blessing with all their imperialistic aspirations. Austrijski popis zemljista poslije ankesije... In one of your first videos about Belgrade you showed one monument, that was monument of Gavrilo Princip:) Many people consider him hero, so pretty reckless to call him terrorist :) Besides in Russia you are also keeping mummy of Lenin who organized killing of your tzar and his whole family. So it's all relative who is terrorist and who is hero. I recommend Ivo Andrić novels for understanding Bosnia better, he was Nobel prize winner and also friend with members of movement "Young Bosnia". Also there was beautiful movie recently made "Branio sam mladu Bosnu" translated as "The man who defended Gavrilo Princip" from the perspective of his lawyer Rudolf Zistler.

Novels of Ivo Andric arent the best way to understand Bosnia. He is everything but not objective. He is also very much driven by serbian myths and not the real historical facts. Not to mention his Islamophobia towards native Bosniaks and his humiliation of Bosnia as a "dark vilayet or province" .

He participated in many events which he describes so I find it interesting, he was not only novelist, but politician and in active diplomatic service. I don't see him particularly on any "side", also don't see islamophobia in calling Bosnia province of Ottoman impery which refers to historical time he describes. He isn't the one who invented phrase "dark villayet" it existed before in people's tales and refers to misterious place. Instead of being offended by writer's style figure, I think you should be proud of such successful person from Bosnia.

Religion did not become a separating factor in the 90's. Over a period of 500 long years during the ottoman occupation it was hammered into the people's heads and deep into their consciousness that they are very different, that the non- Muslims occupy the lowest ranks of the society, no intermarrying allowed, no political or any administrative careers allowed for non- Muslims. Religious freedoms not fully restricted, but by no means fully granted. They had to ask for permission in order to build a new church, which was often denied. Access to education and recources heavily restricted for those, who do not follow the occupiers religion. Furthermore the "infidels" had to pay high taxes and Islamic protection money (jizzya). For 500, long years. That leaves deep scars and people come to know their differences after such a long time of oppression and division into higher and lower ranking ones in society. So the separation of peoples there into religious categories is by all means not a new occurrence in the Balkans. During communism in Jugoslavia these differences were suppressed by propaganda and force and again, oppression. So it was somewhat natural that they again rose to the surface after the communist jugoslav dictatorship collapsed.

@@maziarkhanlari7279 Real piece is not the absence of war. If peace is enforced upon you by homogenisation policies, that peace is only a thin ice, an illusion, that will break apart sooner or later. Ultra- Nationalism and war are horrible and surely the worst case scenario. But communism and an unstable fake peace, where everybody's identity has to be suppressed constantly (by force), is also not a sustainable, long term solution. Communism in practise never worked, nowhere. And it will never work. What I personally think enabled this conflict, were aristocratic power structures, inherited from the former communist dictatorship, where all the society's force and power were bundled in the hands of just a few. That power can easily corrupt, especially when combined with nationalism. (Milošević/ Милошєвић is one example, yes). It seems quite absurd, but the blo0dbath of the 90s seems like a price, that had to be payed for the transition from a dictatorship towards liberal democracy. In the process of the US becoming a democracy, a civil war had to be fought. Germany needed two world wars to transition from monarchic and fascist dictatorships to liberal democracy. The Balkan needed a blo0dy civil war. To spread out political power from the hands of one man, or a small group, to a separation and independence of the three powers, executive, legislative, judicial, for the human race it seems to be nearly impossible without the price of blo0d. It's maybe a bit weird way of seeing it, but one can nonetheless see this pattern nearly everywhere. Democracy was rarely accomplished without a high price to be payed.

You entered region with very turbulent history with very superficial knowledge of history. You should just ignore sensitive topics. For example Mlada Bosna and Gavrilo Princip could not by any definition be marked as terrorists! Goal of terrorism is to spread terror and by default it targets common people... In case of Mlada Bosna it was tyrannicide. Political assignation which was in many cases only way to oppose tyrant and it was very common in that period. Young Italia killed Austro-Hungarian queen for example. You must understand that Habsburg monarchy was not democracy so that political frictions could not be solved through dialoged or parliament or elections.... It was tyranny for people of Bosnia and act of killing a tyrant in the name of liberation is heroic act!

When Austria-Hungary annexed region of Bosnia as one of their states, majority of people in Bosnia were Serbian and they were persecuted because they didn't want to be part of Austria-Hungary. This is why Gavrilo Princip killed Ferdinand. For Serbians he is a freedom fighter, I think your label may be a little harsh with the "terrorist" since he killed an occupier of the land.
