If you mean the "Assalamu Alaykum" part, then your wrong. We use assalamu alaykum because Maldives is a Muslim country. There is no real word for "hello", we just say "Assalamu alaikum"
@@Ash_sncThe ancestors of "Mathru Dvipa" are Sinhalese people from Sri Lanka. There are many similarities in the ancient language. But parallels are hard to find because of two thousand years of independent editing and heavy influence from later Arabic.
Its really tough to pinpoint the most similar language since Dhivehi has been influenced by so many different languages and cultures. Also, Islam might have had one of the largest impacts on this language
Assalaamu alaikum is not used just in Maldives, its because Maldives is a muslim country and Muslims greet with "assalaamu alaikum", Also feels so wierd watching a random person from another country speaking in my language without the maldivian speaking tone. Assalaamu alaikum, haalu kihineh? Rangalhu tha? Alhugandu vs haalu rangalhu, salhi dho dhivehi. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
