Of course Gedi is an equal fencer, the parts we have in this tutorial is for the continuity. But we will think about a sparring video.

I do believe that three of you are good swordsmen and the tutorial videos that you are producing are really good! But it would be nice to see how all these drills can be combined together into a fight. Otherwise, it is similar to learning salsa drills without seeing a real dance. Please keep doing these tutorials, because they are amazing! And thanks for responding!

@@bekahslider I didn't get the point of this one.

If the bind comes from a left Oberhau: Take a step to your left, turn the blade and hit with the false edge (if you hold your sword in front the true edge is near your opponent and the false edge is closer to your body). If you are left handed it's the other way around. It doesn't really matter wheter your opponent is left or right handed but from which side the attack comes from.

Well left vs left is easy - it looks exactly the same but mirrored. left vs right - like almost all longsword play which are done left vs right is more trickier question: A duplieren in left vs right is almost never usefull or even necassary - a simple absetzen is way more natural and faster. For the situations where you can delivery it.... well, the defender is doing the Oberhau from his weak side and after the "collision" the play for the attacks looks excatly the same - you raise your arms and you are going for the snap behind your opponents blade. But why is it then so tricky? Well, simple answer - because the natural reaction the defender would be go to a hanging guard when the attacker is trying his "Duplieren". And because you came from your weak side anyway - going to a hanging guard is a veeeeeeeeeeeeeery natural and easy movement. From there you can easily snap upwards with the false edge OR you enter the close combat aera and punch him with your pommel. I hope this explains it a little. Cheers Harry
