I am a retired university teacher and I'm trying to increase my Thai skills. This presenter is a natural teacher. He explains things thoroughly, gives many examples, and uses repetition effectively. I'm happy I came across this channel! I watch one video a day to increase my skills. Keep making more! Thanks!

Yaang - I struggle in my head with this being “things” and “kind” in English. As they are quite different in English.

Hey, Jack, Many thanks for the great lesson. I really enjoy your style of teaching. BTW: In English, the word "work" is uncountable. Instead of ''works' , we would use jobs / tasks.

@@IgetThais Learning what nouns are "countable" and "uncountable" is hard. There is no learning trick. Just have to memorize it!

With the change of pronunciation of yaang nee to yang ngee, is the spelling changed in writing or is it never written? In English, we spell words the same way regardless of the pronunciation differences -- and I'm from US Appalachian South and sometimes use AAVE so I often pronounce things very differently than standard English but spell it the same.

แป๊บนึง(pbáb nueng) is an informal means in a bit! สักครู่(sák krôo) is a more formal means a moment" or "a while. Both phrases can be used interchangeably in various contexts to indicate a brief moment or a short amount of time. When I have conversations with my dad, I use both expressions. In general, I say "แป๊บนึง" (pbáb nueng), but when I need to convey a more serious tone or emphasize that I'm busy at the moment, I use "สักครู่" (sák krôo) or "รอสักครู่" (raw sák krôo), which means "wait a moment."

And what about ชนิด
@IgetThais
@IgetThais 7 месяцев назад
ชนิด means kind. It is used to refer to a specific category or classification of something, particularly in scientific contexts, such as when discussing various species of plants or animals.

I would translate... Yàang = kind of. Because the word "kind" means nice.
@liamburns8554
@liamburns8554 Год назад
The word kind does mean nice, but also means a type of something. It has 2 meanings. The fact it has “of” after it is not relevant
