You will learn how to respond to common defenses from your opponent, as well as how to take advantage of any weaknesses or mistakes they may make. 1.Nf3+, Kd1, 2. Ng5+, c3, 3.Nxh7, cxg4, 4.Bxh6 Not sure if this is it, but we get 2 pieces for a rook

At 9:21, you didn't mention 4Bc4 (instead of 4Be2) which leads to the so-called "corkscrew" trap thus 4...fe 5Nf7 Qe7 6 Nh8 d5 7 Bb3?? Bg4 winning immediately for Black.. If instead 7 Be2 Be6 and Black has good compensation for the exchange. A game I played years ago as Black went as follows, as an idea of where the compensation can go if passively met by White: 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 f5 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. Nxe5 fxe4 5. Nf7 Qe7 6. Nxh8 d5 7. Be2 Be6 8. O-O Nc6 9. Bh5+ g6 10. Nxg6 hxg6 11. Bxg6+ Kd7 12. d3 Qg7 13. dxe4 Qxg6 14. exd5 Bxd5 15. g3 Bd6 16. Nc3 Be6 17. Bf4 Rh8 18. Bxd6 cxd6 19. Qd2 Ng4! (with strong attack) 20. Rad1 Bc4 21. Rfe1 Rxh2 22. Ne4 d5 23. b3 Nce5! (accelerating) 24. Nc5+ Kc6 25. Rxe5 Nxe5 26. Qf4 Qh5 27. Qf6+ Kxc5 28. Qe7+ Kc6 29. Qe6+ Kc7 30. Qe7+ Nd7 31. Rd4 Qh3 ? (...Rh1! and Bf1 mate was rather better) 32. Rxc4+ dxc4 0-1

I'm not completely sure about the compensation after 7. Bb5 + ....

If the opponent knows how to counter it, the Latvian is one of the worst openings there is. The reason it’s my favorite opening is that no one plays against it enough to know how to counter it. Without fail, every time I play f5 there’s a noticeable pause lmao

The most problematic is : 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 f5 3.Nxe5 Nf6 4.Bc4! and i don't trust in the corscrew variation because of : 4. ... fxe4 5.Nf7 Qe7 6.NxRh8 d5 7.Bb5+! and black doesn't have sufficient compensation ...

therefore you should play 4....qe7. and since this is the best you can do anyway, i recommend playing this move already on move 3

No way. Once the king moves there is the fork of the knight moving to F7
