I've been playing for about 6 years and I'm close to a 5.0 player. This is such a simple and effective way to be ready for every speed up that comes your way. You're always ready to counter even if you or your partner didn't hit a perfect ball. The key from the video is the paddle direction. I had never thought about this as it differs from the "ready position" that everybody professes. This way is like playing "counter position" and its definitely next level. Another side effect from this paddle position is that it stops me from flipping open when I'm on the right side and playing bad backhands in the middle! I never thought a 60 second short could improve my game so quickly and open so many doors. Thanks for this one!
My only issue is that you say opponent should never see a speed up opportunity but speed ups happen all the time through all levels of play, up to pros, whether there is a gap or not
