Great video Ryan. I did not like the way you were treated by the other carvers on the TV show. This was a good video to introduce people to power carving. I would love to be able to do the larger chain saw type carving, but have a bad back. My wife and I have the Ram BP50 power carver and been very happy withe it. It is much quieter than a dremel and has less vibration with more power. The harbor freight is a good way to see if you like power carving. We use a PSI D725 to catch the wood chips and dust to allow us to carve inside the house.

Hahaha...whats with you putting videos up after I've started doing the same things.....as a still less than 1 yr chainsaw carver...I figured I needed to get proportions better and going smaller is the right way in my mind...so since Christmas I've been doing mostly Dremal things ( Jordy Wood spirits) to help with facial depths and shading....WTF you end up doing a video with him....now you're doing Dremal only.....all I know is I must be on the right track and this had helped incredibly on my finishing of things.....and to semi quote you " if at first you don't succeed. ...try again" & again & again & again. !!!!! All I know is people who saw my stuff in June patted my back on effort and sorta likeness.....now people are shaking my hand after they purchase. That is encouragement enough. And I ain't shit compared to you 2 God's of carving !!!!!! Thank you both for the help.....which I will always humbly take....because I understand the value....but mostly the encouragement you offer to us Newbies !!!

How much sanding do you do on a piece like this? I only make things that need a huge amount of sanding and it kills my soul... you appear to barely do any on this style? Is that accurate? Brilliant btw..
