Brings back so many wonderful memories. My Aunt owned and run a Crab House, in Florida, and my family picked crabs for a living. It wasn’t easy but my mom raised 5 children picking crabs. I picked the claws but my mom picked the whole crab, lump, back fin, special, and claw meat. We don’t get much crabs any more and most of our crab houses have been closed for years. I use small scissors to cut the legs. Super easy, super claen.

My crab picking method is the best. I even eat the legs and I only use a butter knife for the claws.

There was a Phillips here in my town about 12 years ago where my uncle work. They're raising and exporting crab, but I don't know why it was stopped. Are you related to them? It was in Sayao, Bantigue, Bantayan, Cebu City, Philippines.

I mean blue crab is great but I’m no good at getting the meat and I only had it a few times. I can go to down on crawfish or shrimp though haha

Here, everyone picks them with fingers. Noone slices them open with a knife like this.

well, you wasted the meat in the legs and the knuckles. The crab deserved better than having that meat thrown in the trash.

No one has ever cleaned a crab this easily. Every time I crack one open all I get is a f ton of cartilage and “mustard”
