Basically, an ego song is a song that's easy to play, and a project song is one that's harder to play, one you have to work on for a while. If you only play ego songs, you get bored and you don't make progress. And if you only play project songs, you can get frustrated because you're not having any fun. In the video, Steve talks about finding a balance, so you can have fun and make progress at the same time. Those are active pickups by EMG I believe

maybe your guitar isn't in tune, sometimes the note you fret doesn't come out in tune while your open is, so you need to get that fixed in a guitar shop or someone that knows how to do it, and usually B. C. Rich guitars have floating trems, which are more difficult to deal with, idk if you solved your problem or not, but I hope I helped

+Mike Fu dude not every beginner has a teacher for one-on-one lessons, tabs alone might not be enough to properly learn all the notes and rhythms. What's wrong with watching people on youtube explain how to play a song, and then learn from that? Perhaps you are a skilled player and find these unnecessary, but I believe there are many people like me that can use these videos very well. At the end of the day the result will be the same anyway, so why bother with the arrogant attitude?
