Great battle report, I'm just starting out and would love to see more of these videos in the same educational format (including Saxons and/ or Normans).
@@RodgeRules The Spanish! I know the crusade book labels them as the hardest. But I always choos factions based on the rule of cool rather than on other factors. Hopefully it wont be a problem
Awesome video - would like more like this format. As a new player, one thing I've found really important to distinguish is that some activations are "free", meaning they don't require a saga die, some activations do not generate fatigue if they normally would, and some activations don't count towards the accumulation of fatigue from later activations of the same unit. These are not the same thing. Now some abilities may have some combination of the above, so it's been important for me to keep these three concepts clear while playing.
Thank you Daniel! You are correct about those different types of activations and will make a special effort to note if any of those apply in future batreps!
Question: turn 3 at 42:43 you used javalins. You stated one of the models was out of range. If it’s out of range can it still generate an attack? So a 12 model unit generates 6 dice but if one is out would it be five?
Hi Chizj! They generate 1 shooting attack for every 2 models and in SAGA you always round up any fractions, so 11 or 12 figures is 6 attack dice, 9 or 10 is 5, etc. Hope that helps!
Some abilities are marked with a "+" which indicate the two dice you need to use it. The rest (vast majority) just need a single die so if there are 2 or 3 shown, you can use any of those.
You can get the info on my figs in the Heathen Show and Tell video. Zach's figs are Wargames Factory plastics (also painted by me and many had their poses converted).
@1:20:07, how did you gain nine attack dice for sacrificing three berserkers if you can't gain more bonus bonus attack dice than you have figures in your unit (1 fig = 1 dice)?
