From what I’ve been given to understand… small talk is frowned upon in Finland -> no “how are you?” Or “how’s your day?”, this is considered too intimate and crosses too many personal boundaries however “wanna get naked in a sauna w me [complete stranger I just met]” and “I wanna drink naked at home” are not only acceptable interactions but ENCOURAGED interactions lol 😂 the latter one even has one word for it. In the previous video you said “your place or my place” was a “beginners word for being in Finland” but “sorry” and “please” and “I love you” were too much and might cross a line and “you shouldn’t expect anyone to say them” lol 😂 Fucking love Finland. It’s like “shut up, don’t talk to me unless you wanna be naked around me… also don’t expect me to apologize or call you back at any point” haha 😂 y’all have your priorities straight lol

Just got my DNA back from myheritage and found out that I'm 58% Scandinavian. A good amount of my distant relatives are from Finland, so I figured I should try learning finnish. Maybe it will come to me easier than Spanish.

Thank you for making a second start on these little insights into the Finnish language - I've been playing at learning it for a couple of years (I was moving there until the Brexit debacle deflated the Pound too much :() so a bit of entertaining motivation is just what I need.

I enjoy Aleksi's videos, but these are already a lot more helpful, as I have been trying to learn different Finnish and Swedish words/phrases to better understand my Finnish boyfriend, when he uses his native tongues.
@@AleksiHimself You do an awesome job Aleksi, wasn't trying to insult you (if I did), on covering so much stuff about Finland and the videos I have watched of yours on Finnish language have been used in conversations/ discussions with my Finnish guy. Just saying both, FinntasticBeast and you, have different styles of teaching as well. Maybe the fact she is a female as well, the way she expressed the emotion in her vocal break down with a few words clicked more. Your break down of the words help with reading Finnish as well, and you give literal translations. Guess I should just say, I enjoy both channels.

okay so, it's VERY important to me, to have the right teacher, the right kind of style of speaking/being, energy of the person etc, as well as material - for me to be able to learn and absorb things. I'm right brained, expansive, creative, physical - and standard ways or regular ppl tend to not make enough of an impression on me with usual material and my brain is like NAH. However, hp representing!!!!!!, love, and excellent energy, as well as an AWESOME personality, great and actual useful material, excellent articulation, and did i say HP REPRESENTING!!!?! Yep, i found my lady, my brain is ready to learn :P resonance is SO important!!!! and this is just all of the yay, in all the ways :D

"Sinuun" (in litteral language) or "suhun" (in common spoken language). "Teihin" is too formal. Formal language is avoided in Finnish. It's almost never used in speech. Finnish is a very relaxed and equal language, where usually people of all status, age and gender, strange and familiars, use the same casual unformal speech. You can speak casual language with the president of the country or the CEO of the firm, pupils do it with teachers and kids with parents.
