Wow! I've never even heard of French wire. It looks so much nicer than those ugly wire guards. I'm purchasing some of that stuff for sure. It makes for a lovely finish!

I agree - I like the look of it much more than wire guards!! :-) Cleaner, without attracting more attention to the clasp area. -Leah www.eurekacrystalbeads.com/french-wire-silver-medium/ www.eurekacrystalbeads.com/french-wire-gold-medium/ -Leah Come join the fun! Cool! I started with basic stringing and grew to love weaving...but, I never was taught to use crimp covers and never knew about French wire. I’m so excited to make my strung pieces more professional looking. Thank you! 🤗

Such a clear, informative video! I've been "beading" for years but just using a traditional "rosary" style with straight eye pins. I've wanted to learn how to "string" beads together for some time now. Thank you! I hit a "LIKE" and subscribed to your channel. Thank you!

Do you have a tutorial on using the cord with the built in needle but threading a guru 3 holed bead after stringing regular beads? How do I tackle that sequence of beading. Thanks so much. T

I like the French wire! Didn’t know about that. Could you please share where I could buy some? It looks like it helps to keep the crimp tube from moving around too much. Thanks!

I've watched many a beading tutorial, and this one really stands out for clarity of instruction and detail. It feels professional, but interesting and not at all stiff. Kudos to the instructor for her clear speaking voice and enunciation. This makes it easy for the viewer to follow along and to simply focus on the details. GREAT JOB! And I learned something new. I'll definitely be back for more!

I love your tutorial. I started using french wire because it does give a piece a very finished look. The only thing is that I notice the french wire kinks up. Is there a special way I should store it so this doesn't happen?
@EurekaCrystalBeads
@EurekaCrystalBeads 5 лет назад
Carefully. Store it carefully. :-) LOL.... I store mine in a small zip lock bag carefully in a storage drawer where I know it won't get jostled around. You could also try pre-cutting all of your pieces and then you'll 1) have them ready to use when you need them and 2) they won't be in a long segment anymore where they would be more likely to kink up. Hope that's helpful! -Leah Come join the fun! The Beader's Nook at Eureka Crystal Beads facebook.com/groups/319085948930672/

Great video! I noticed you used sterling silver crimp beads, but that you also cautioned against using low-quality material. Are sterling the best? How about plated (gold, for example)?
@EurekaCrystalBeads
@EurekaCrystalBeads 5 лет назад
Hi Thomas! For something silver-colored, Sterling Silver would be the best. If you're in need of a gold option, you could certainly use the gold plated ones you mentioned. It's more crucial for me that it's a TUBE crimp (as opposed to a round crimp bead) rather than what it's made from. (You're covering it with a crimp cover - theoretically - anyway) Stick with the tube variety, and you'll be good to go. :-) -Leah Come join the fun! excellent instructions. i noticed though that you didn't stress that the wire should be parallel and not crossed. i'm finding it extremely difficult to tell - especially after the jewelry piece has been beaded - if the wire is positioned correctly.
@leahwyckoff4791
@leahwyckoff4791 3 года назад
Thanks for the comment! :-) The wires being parallel can be helpful, but not detrimental. Many times, the wires slip back to being crossed as you crimp them (in my experience) - and the wires crossing doesn't generally equal a death sentence for the piece. I'll make sure to stress that next time though!! :-)
