One thing am very sure of is she’s gonna pass one day that’s certain. All she needs now is lots of encouragement and assurance she’ll make it. And also a bit more work on anxiety. Kenny please, am pleading in aspect of supporting her,do all you could and success will come out of it. Thanks

Exactly, as long as she doesn't give up and I've continued to reminder her of that. My unending support is guaranteed lol as long as she doesn't get tired of learning and retrying

Thing is with reversing straight is to stop all lined up parallel with kerb, wheels straight and car pointing straight down the road. When you reverse no steering adjustment needed maybe a slight bit if it was not all straight. You should be 9 to 12 inches from kerb in my opinion as once you reach touching the kerb the situation is irrecoverable in reverse. Only repair is forward move straighten up then return to reversing.

That’s correct!! but after all these is said for some reason some learners still get caught up with steering around like in this case

I watched all your Bromley videos before my test and I passed it at the first attempt this week! Your videos have been super helpful so thank you!

I must confess i hate 'undue hesitation' as a reason for being marked down or failing. My instructor had a right go at me the other day. Firstly, I was waiting to emerge from a side road (no one behind me), where there were meeting situations on either side that i would have snarled up had i emerged from the junction. Second one was at a mini roundabout; car approaching from my right with no indicator until they were 10 feet from the junction. I'd already stopped before they indicated and turned left.

At the mini roundabout, presumably the car approaching from the right was far enough away from entering the roundabout that you had ample time to go even if he wasn't turning left. Otherwise, the driving instructor wouldn't have said it was 'undue' hesitation (unless he doesn't know how to drive, which I doubt, they have to go through some very stringent tests to get qualified). Same goes for emerging from the side road. Undue hesitation is an issue as if there were cars behind you, they'd be expecting you to go and might start moving off themselves, so hesitating when it's not called for makes the road less safe. There might have been no one behind you in these instances so you'd only pick up a minor, but if there was it could be a major. You've got to learn to take criticism from your instructors otherwise you're not going to get better.

But if you look at the case you must understand how this can big a bigger problem on the road at rush hour especially when you're now driving alone and no Learner sign. But in you support though I understand where you're coming from when compared to other dangerous fault that can happen

Perfectly said!!! Learners get angry for being failed for undue hesitation or progress but then once they pass and doing school runs the criticise a slow driver 🤣 IRONIC!

She should try a different centre if she is having difficulty at this centre; maybe Hither Green, Mitcham or Mill Hill (London is a big enough city with a variety of roads). If I failed twice at the same centre I would switch. This route just doesn't seem to like her (as much as that sounds weird to say)
@OJKENNY

I've reluctantly suggested that myself

Hi, thank you for your informative videos, I want to book my test at Bromley test centre and have a question For front bay parking, if I need to reverse to park straight, will this be a fail?
@keith6400
@keith6400 2 месяца назад
She does need to understand in detail how roundabouts work particularly when a lot of traffic is present and specifically the mini roundabout variant.

I agree but only if nerves could give chance so I guess its going to be more practise

Do hope this learner passes next time. I could have failed my test last year with that manoeuvre as I got 2 minors on that, first I rolled forward an inch but quickly stopped the car and re started the manoeuvre, actual reverse was fine but afterwards on pulling away I signalled right not left - silly error on my behalf and I’m just lucky no other cars in the road or that could have escalated to a serous and I’d have been furious with myself. Anxiety and nerves play a huge part, I had some hypnotherapy for driving confidence and test nerves and felt that helped me. Got a great examiner too who seemed to go out of his way to put me at ease, he said how calm I appeared and was laughing with me and my examiner about my signal error (as he’d never had a candidate do that before)

@OJKENNY 2 месяца назад
I'm hoping so too, yes you definitely was lucky as if there was other road user around who would have been affected then situation would have changed and this is exactly why luck is still needed on test :D. In my experience, most fails always boils down to ANXIETY AND NERVES hence some good drivers still end up failing and having a very friendly examiner definitely can be life changing although you shouldn't really let their face bother you but easier said than done lol
@alisont308
@alisont308 2 месяца назад
@@OJKENNY I do feel luck played a part in my test and the examiner definitely helped as in put me at ease, got me chatting and was open to conversation and we’d got a lot of things in common too, he was even joking with me which I’d not expected. I got following road signs but knew the area well as so many roadworks the examiners had stopped using sat navs a lot. I couldn’t get past 45mph on the dual carriageway because of the roadworks but did tell the examiner which stretches I’d be looking to be at 60mph if I could be. I’d booked my test in half term so roads were quiet too. If id have impacted on another driver I’d have rightly got a serious after that manoeuvre so was very lucky no other cars about (I’d wondered at the time why examiner was craning his neck out of the side window!)

Seun trust me I've seen few other learners in their 6th attempt, even one of my Naija brother passed on the 5th. This is what pressure, anxiety and anxiousness combined together can do to the mind and you start to the crazy things. I've met an instructor who's learner passed on the 15th attempt so I AM HOPEFUL 😀🤞 SO LET'S GIVE HER SOME ENERGY SHE NEEDS OUR SUPPORT 😉

Learner needs to take a break From driving and MISS BEING ON THE ROAD...then they will pass if they keep forcing TEST TEST. The results will remain the same . Anyhu all the best of luck as always
@OJKENNY

I wouldn't actually say break per say but instead more time on the road understanding better how other road users negotiate and think to some extent
