yes it's a joke, and heres the backstory (if you're interested lol) It started with a thread, we still dont know if the person was serious or trolling 😭 but it was detailed and very long lol. Other armys were like 'bro wtf 💀' and the person deleted their acct. But sometime after that, people referenced it enough to the point we adopted it as a joke. tbh its one of my fave fandom jokes just bc of how bizarre it is, and because of how detailed it is
The start of the Princess Diana conspiracy was a tweet from an army who tweeted something along the lines "don't get mad at me, but me and my family watched a Princess Diana documentary recently and..." and it became popular in army twt when yoongi wore a sweater exactly like one Princess Diana once wore and quote tweet about it saying "Yoongi just wanted to make Jungkook comfortable" and so the fandom joke was born. Similar like the one inside joke of "Jungkook you're not being reasonable right now. I can't even speak korean" 😂

jk and princess diana story is a inside fandom joke and ironically the only people taking it serious and a conspiracy theory are people outside the fandom. cause we make sht up and have some fun and laughs and move on until the next time we can make sht up for funs and giggles but the next thing we know is someone outside the fandom making a video/news about our own made up inside jokes and try to portray it as something it isnt. in this case, for example, there are 2 fun theories(?) about jk, the earlier one being "this is jk first life, because of his innocence, curiosity and starry eyes" but then someone made a thread after watching diana documentries, had to delete the acc because of backlash from fans, fast forward to different people adding to this theory. but it was all for fun. this definitely wasnt how i imagined you finding out about this inside joke.
