Your presentation style is fantastic. Besides being so thorough, you give the books and such good camera shots and up close of the textiles, plus the chart you make as you go along. Such a brilliant way to teach. I feel like I am in the front row of your classroom. So beautiful. Best class on fabrics I've ever seen. Thank you!

Your entire fabric series is supery interesting and good for learning. The use of fabric swatches really helped a lot - I will now go and annoy my fabric shop by asking to see all of them. The swatch book is crazy expensive, but I think it will help a lot. Thank you very much for the work you put into this series.

I just finished watching your silk clip and it's so comforting that I'm not the only one that gets "too" excited by deliciously smooth silks haha. I look forward to watching the rest of your fabric videos. Your illustration clips also helped me a lot in terms of detail and colour placement. I absolutely loved this! I’m not a fashioner designer nor am I aspiring to be one. I sew a bit and have been venturing into sewing with knits. It’s been confusing just trying to buy fabric for a project. My pattern might say it’s appropriate for jersey; but then I visit the fabric store and find a gazillion types of jersey that are nothing alike. What?! This video just opened up a new world for me. It had so much useful information. I’m excited to watch others that you’ve created.

Studio arts graduate who started sewing recently and struggle to find the fabrics I want. One of my favorite college classes was Theatre Arts costume-making, the only sewing class I have had. But have become most interested in what people wear, the elements of fabric and the design and sewing process. Working my way through your videos. I love clothing but tend toward the classic designs - although my favorite everyday wear appears most often to be leggings, sweatshirts, boots and most always in black. I have found your videos to be so helpful and when I go fabric searching now feel I know a bit more and am making less mistakes. Thank you for your very entertaining videos! Feel a lot more knowledgeable now about meandering my way through the fashion design jungle.

All I knew of knitting prior to watching your video came from a very old (Class of 1957) basketball cheer that describes how to weave a roundball net: Knit one, purl two, (Name of high school): Yoo hoo!!! My parents would be sooo proud, lol! Great work, keep it up!

Oh wow! I love Japan and I really didn't spend enough time in Kyoto. I know a Canadian guy in Sagamihara who specializes in indigo and I go to study with him. Japan is so great, good luck with your new job! I'd love to hear more about your job if you're up for sharing.
@oswaldm.2689

Hi Zoe, thank you for your kind answer. Yes Japan has great traditional crafter still remaining in activity. That's nice to keep the natural way alive. I've visited a indigo dyer in Shikoku, Tokushima prefecture where it's a pride product. I work for one of the biggest textile ribbon producer. all the production is made in Japan (Fukui). For now we have a showroom in LA if you are curious, the LA team will be glad to receive you and present our products. (around 42000 reference in our catalogue and a lot directly available in stock). As I'll be manager in Paris Showroom and i'm not from the textile industry I have to learn a lot, but as I'm a good crafter (embroidery, knitting, crocheting, felting, ...) I'm already in love with fabric and yarn. but the bad point to this new dream job is that I have to leave Kyoto (ohhh such a jewel in Japan) and face pouting Parisian ahah. Any way, if you are interested google Shindo.com and If i'm coming by LA, maybe I'll get the chance to meet you (*/∇\*)キャ

Came across the video because I was looking to see what the difference is between fleece and tricot from a jacket I was gonna buy. I found this particularly interesting because I’m a welding engineering technologist and we work on different types of welds as there would be patterns of knit and weaves for example and we look at micro structures of materials in grain sizing. Kinda relates a bit. Anyway keep up the vids 👍😁

They are reversible wide leg pants both side white and on the inside they have a lot of detail all with an underlining meaning of bullying. I won’t go to much into it.
