I literally don't want to stop skating my mini ramp! I'm definitely not amazing at this yet, but I'm slowly learning. Transition skating has always been weird to me but it's actually starting to make some sense. Hope you guys like this video! Hey Sam I wanted to tell you that I got into skating because you,Andy,and Ryden.i just leaned how to keep my balance and push off and I want to try and do as many tricks you can do. im using my brothers old skateboard that he used to use but it’s to big for my size but it’s still good thank you for getting me into skating keep up the good work

So rad! I was never a transition skater, axel stalls were a struggle. I then rolled my ankle down a gap and skated mini ramp on the recovery process. Best thing I ever did, now, nearly 10 years later transition is still one of my favourite things to skate.

Back smiths I think mentally it helps to think of it more like a 50/50 that you kind of miss your front truck on. As opposed to thinking of it like a 5-0 great video as always Sam!

Sam! Idk if you'll see this but a thing that helped me learn back Smiths on ramps was pushing my front foot out and down so it doesnt lock into 50-50. Love the videos, and love the new ramp!

For the back smith I think of it as a higher kick turn and then when I feel my truck hit coping i lean back and put all the pressure on my back foot and leave my front foot to just guid the deck idk works for me

A trick I find really fun and easy to do it 50-50 slash to fakie, you just go up to the coping and slide your back foot up to the coping and then slide it back down and go back fakie.

key to any stall or lip trick etc is lining your shoulders up with the coping and stand up on top of it instead of leaning so far into the ramp

Could you do a video on how to do a 50-50 stall like you did warming up? I know it’s super basic but i went from a town where I could only skate street and now I’m comfortable dropping in and pumping and all of that but anytime I try to do the 50-50 stall I don’t get high enough, it might be lack of commitment but I’m not 100% sure. I’m not scared of it but it is kind of tricky to get onto with the way the skatepark is laid out I have to do it a little faster then I think is needed that might be my issue. I have to slash it like you said. I learned a rock to fakie on the same ramp

For the smith try and hold a 5-0 but spin it slower and dip your front foot into the quarter, this is what I think about doing when I do them

fakie smiths are really helpful to learn smiths, since you don't have to turn as much into them, and you still get the feeling of a smith

try that fakie pop rock you do in your warm up line, but tweak your body after the pop to land into front smith! One of my favorite transition tricks and I can barely do a regular front smith hahah. Ramp looks so sick, Ive dreamt about having one of those for years!

also frontside 50-50 is a great trick to learn if you want to transition (no pun intended lol) into the front 5-0. It helps you get a frontside feeling of being on top of the coping! Pop out is just like coming out of a ledge at an angle, keep up the awesome mini ramp vids, cant wait to see your progression!!

For a back smith you can try to like do a little powerslide in it so your front truck doesnt need to catch too much air so its easier to balance it

Either one honestly. There’s not a ton of difference between the two. If you can do one, you have the other one figured out about 15 minutes later.
