I would very much like hear your version of "Fossilised Errors" in english language in particular.. because I like the way you put in work to explain things in your own way
I often notice that people, including myself, underestimate themselves. For example, I constantly think that I have a palto in learning English and I'm stuck. But it' not true, cauz now I'm listening your video with 1.25 speed. And it is very helpful to notice even small changes in your skills. (Hi from Russia and thank you, Bob from Canada for your lessons!)
You're welcome Stacy! I totally understand what you are saying. Sometimes you feel like you've slowed down a bit, but on reflection, you realize you are still making good progress. Awesome work! Keep it up! 😎
Hy Bob. I've understood recently why I couldn't break throught the plateau you were talking about. I'm my worst enemy with my way of learning. I have always been too demanding with mylself trying to fill up my brain with too much infomation : a new job, my Spanish study, my English Study with plenty of note books...consequently my brain got tired! that's why I would like to add that when it comes to learning our goals must be doable! Thanks a lot.
Jello from France! I had planned a one-month stay in September in England, But it was canceled due to circumstances. So now, I have a tutor online and I took my first lesson Tuesday and my second lesson is today. I am so excited! Thank you, Bob!
Your exercise technique is spot on. Maybe next week’s video could be on that great running you showed us. Great work! I’m sure many will find this video helpful. 😉
@@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian great tips Bob! Now I'm also watching "American English with this guy" to absorb even more new words!!!! YEAAAH Canadian + American accents that's what helps me break through the plateau
Good morning Bob 😀, I don't think i'm on a plateau right now actually i need learn more words improve my vocabulary maybe a canadian baby speak more English than me 😂😂 but when i gonna feel on a plateau i going take this lesson thanks Bob you're great 👍🏼👍🏼 have a beutiful day 🙋🏽♂️🇨🇦🇲🇽
Wise words my friend! Your tips are always very useful. "Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding" Proverbs 3: 13. Have a blessed day!
You are absolutely right about learning English or any other language. People have to be creative and to go out of their comfortable circles to meet other things in language and in life!
For sure. I know with French sometimes I get into a routine (which is good), but then I stay in that routine for too long. It's good to change things up! 😎
I read this word for the first time in a book two weeks ago, and i searched the meaning, since then i listen it in a lot videos (more of them about workout) and now you make an entire lesson 😂 . I think i will never forget its meaning
Hi Bob . I am married with an American woman I could say my level is above intermediate level but still if it`s not even close to be enough for what I expected it to be right now . My wife help me a lot but now I am looking for a professional help to figure out what should be my next step . I have some dream jobs that I am looking to work one day but I don`t feel confident to even try it right now . But like you said it`s really important to try new things and get outside of your comfort zone .
Hi dear teacher! I absolutely agree with you! When you do thinks outside of your comfort zone, your comfort zone expands and you can do more! Thank you for another great pep talk. This was outstanding really inspiring! When I watch your videos I feel like you are not only an English teacher but a life coach as well!
Thanks for this lesson. I have always known what I'need to do but it is hardter to do than to say. Nowadays I have long working hours (usually I work for 10 hours) and I'm thinking of signing up for the weekend to work extra so I will have no opportunity to practice. I can't really keep your tips of overcoming the plateau (I still learn a few words unkown to me) but I just listen to you despite your tips. I also watch the lessons of Interactive English and mmmenglish. During the summer I listened in Vanessa's lessons but nowadays the time is too precious to me.
For me, that feeling of "plateau" your mentioned, dear Bob, depends of what kind of mood I am in at the moment. Sometimes I think I'm there sometimes not. We are lucky that we have four skills to develop: reading, listening, speaking and writing. If you have some difficulties with one you can switch to another and have new fun there. I think It's not as hard as lifting weights day by day working out :-). I appreciate your great "down-to-earth" English classes. Thank you so much! Keep it going!
What a proper timing. I feel stuck at something to get me down. These day I feel bad because of a slump in English. But I got to be motivated to challenge English again. I always appreciate your video and just want to express my gratitude for your teaching. THX Bob:)
Good morning Bob, I’m on the same plateau since years 😟, but I hope I brake it through this year, your videos motivating me a lot😃and I need it also for my job yet...so I have to do a lot English learning, but it’s a lot of fun with you, thanks therefore 😃😃
I've been doing your fifth point since last year and it helps me a lot. I catch news in English from CNN or BBC and learn new skills through watching videos in English. But still feel like I get stuck on the same level. Hopefully by following your other recommendations I can get over it.
Hi dear Teacher Bob! You're the best to make me improve my English and this lesson is a very good example. I think you're completly right speaking about how to break through a plateau because it's true not just about learning English but for any type of learning. As always, your advices are very good and the examples very helpful! I loved the little moment where you try to break through the plateau at practicing your cardio!!!! Thank you so much for this lesson which arrives just at a moment where my progess is level out. I'm going to add something else at my «Bob the Canadian» lessons and at my listening Cbc radio one: studying more grammar on Anglaisfacile and reading a book. As you see I take advantage of the comments to practice my writing! Sorry for this long comment!
It's a very helpful video, actually! Because now I'm feeling like I'm on this plateau and I have to push myself to learning). Thank you for a nice lesson, Mr. Bob!
Hi Bob! I like your diction, it is perfect, and the places where you stay is wonderfull. Thanks for all. Maria from Brazil. If you can, please, tell us about the comma, how do you use in English?
Wow! It really works, believe me. I’ve never heard of that “plateau “ concept as part of the learning process of a new language before , but I did followed the very last two steps you’ve mentioned. Thanks BC for that valuable info👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾GBY
You are right! I think I have just adapted to videos and music that surround me so I need to extend my outlook) Find some new ways in order to overcome this annoying plateau. Btw, thanks for the video. It was informative and entertaining as always)
Hi teacher Bob, thanks for your advice, as always are the best advice. I’d like to know if my postcard is arrived. It’s a postcard about the temple of Concordia in Sicily. Thanks
