Cardiac mode marker toward right shoulder in parasternal long axis and toward left shoulder in parasternal short axis view.

Really nice images, but I can't over the fact that the probe is always oriented in the 'standard' orientation rather than using the 'cardiac' orientation, with the probe indicator toward hips and the indicator dot on the left of the scan. Every other instruction I've ever seen shows the cardiac orientation, and the machines I've used automatically switch to the cardiac orientation when the cardiac probe is plugged in or turned on. Yes, I know the images produced are the same, I'm just wondering what kind of confusion this video will cause when students find it.

Noticed that 5 secs into to the vid. Basically the marker should be 180 degrees from all the positions shown. I think you’d get the same image but it would invert the side on the screen. I did cardiology in costa rica and now pursuing residency in the US. I think this is a great video BUT needs that correction.
