Hey man! This is shivin, I was AIR - 70 in AIPMT 2015. I did my MBBS from MAMC. (Giving this background so that akshati doesn't ask me to do mehnat) Just writing this to tell you that mbbs isn't a panacea for all your problems. I really like your positive attitude and the fact that you explored alternative options. It's ridiculous that you got hate comments for not clearing NEET. @@sed625 Hair is an uncountable noun. That means it's not "hairs". Which leads for me to say "was" instead of "were" because "were" is a plural form. Now, as hair is an uncountable noun, it makes it singular and the singular form of past is was. *FYI: Boom you just schooled!* P.S: Hair is an uncountable noun because you cannot count the number of hair on your body. Even if you did, grammar is based on the history. Unless you are talking about 3 or 4 strands of hairs then it would be plural. So in general, it's an uncountable noun and you need to get your grammar right instead of trying to roast others... Also, no offence {Edit: p.s.}
