This video came out before Nxde. Soyeon explained her concept for Nxde to Shuhua and have her a few days to decide whether she wanted to bleach her hair. Soyeon said she had a plan if Shuhua didn't want to. Regarding what you said about Yuqi's voice - before debut, the vocal coach she had was trying to train her to sing in a more k-pop sounding voice. When Soyeon took leadership of the group she told Yuqi to change vocal coach and find one that would help her develop her own sound. I think this is one of the things that is really under-appreciated about Soyeon - she not only writes with the individual voices in mind but she also encourages them to develop their own styles and sounds.

Funny you find Yuqi's personality interesting, as she is one letter away from Solar's MBTI. Solar is INFJ, Yuqi is ENFJ. Edit: Not sure why the guide called her introvert, she is extremely extroverted, and makes friends with other groups's members, staff and even older people. Also, yes it was Moonbyul with Soojin, that was in Queendom's episode where the main dancers of each group had to dance together.
Yuqi is exactly the same in person, she was flirting with lots of people, including me at the post concert fan meet (hi touch) and I lost the ability to speak.
Hi Lexie, since no one commented on this, just in case you don't know yet, Soyeon was the one responsible for Yuqi being able to sing in her low voice. Cube wanted to make her a rapper and have her sing in a higher register, but Soyeon knew she would perfectly balance Minnie and Miyeon and fought Cube until they gave in. Now of course, everyone loves Yuqi's unique voice.
They were known as (G)I-DLE because they were 6 members the G in their name ment 6,the whole name means 6 individual girls together.But Soojin was kicked out due to false bullying accusations and Soyeon took the G out of the groups name.
In Korean its something like yeoja aideul. Soyeon said something like she get the name idle for the group after she wrote her solo song "Idle Song". But Cube don't agree with the name because Idle has a negative meaning to it so they come to the decision to name the group (G)I-dle with the G which stand for Yeoja (Female) and Idle for Aideul (Children). Even Soyeon dont understand why Cube put the G in parenthesis. I think it's a compromise between Soyeon and Cube, she can call her group Idle as long its written with (G)I-dle
gidle change their group's name to idle only during the tomboy era to fit the concept...they are still gidle...what u see on the guide is like only 2% of them...there are so much more to them that made me and millions of neverlands to fall in love with them...
So (I checked like 10 different sources) they chose to terminate Soojin's contract because she was involved "engaging in bullying", which seems completely out of character for her, at least judging by what is presented here ( I need to do more research). Something smells fishy (pardon the idiom), the alleged "charge" just seems so out of character for her. Also look at how the other members treated her... they seem to love her, as she does them. I just don't buy this bullying story. A bully doesn't just stop being a bully... it's what's gotten them through life thus far. (There was a lawsuit and a counter-suit, but it seems to have been dropped for some reason.) Something else was happening there. Dammit, I HATE conspiracy theories. Sorry Lex, your vid just made me want to find out more, and I couldn't stop, so, good work! lol. :)
The “main dancer material” and “potential main dancer” stuff is tongue in cheek, kind of an inside joke in Neverland. Sometimes you’ll also see people call Miyeon “Chodi B” or Second CL…it’s just inside joke teasing. Shuhua is a vocal chameleon but not a talented vocalist as the videos says. She does however, have a beautiful tone. If you want to watch a more lighthearted and cheeky “guide” video that kind of distills why Neverland loves GIDLE so much, I’d recommend “Pabo’s Guide to GIDLE.” Paboland is a nickname Shuhua and Yuqi gave to Nevies. Pabo = stupid/idiot. Nevies fucking love it. Kinda tells you all you need to know about this group and their fandom. The video is just a funny compilation of them being hilarious dumbasses…the way we love them. Just be prepared to laugh your ass off
I made this during the tomboy era so as far as I could tell they had dropped the G. Back then, fans, including me, were not aware that it was just a thing specifically for the TOMBOY comeback.
