There are 10 letters athof. One of them is the letter wawu. As the letter athof, wawu has several meanings, namely:
• Together and gather at one time
• Tartib (sequential). This happens when there are clues that indicate a time gap.
• Choice (تخيير), this happens when “wawu 'athaf” is before ا
Furthermore, there are several provisions in the use of athof wawu letters, including:
• Wawu 'athaf may connect many ma'tuf, where the ma'tuf 'alaih is only the foremost lafadz
• Wawu 'athaf may connect ma'tuf and ma'tuf 'alaih, both of which consist of the form of mufrad or number (sentences), both the number of ismiyyah and fi'liyyah and syibhul Total
