Fantastic. I love this little glimpse into Russ's methods and materials - it's thrilling to see a bit of behind the scenes - I feel a bit like a spy - trying to steal as much as possible from every word and every frame. 😊
Man, Russ uses some cool apps & softwares, I'm gonna have to come back and re-watch and take notes...... Very interesting stuff , thanks Russ & Seonn 👍🙏🙏🙏
When I get extra dollars , I'd like to sample and try out some of this stuff, like Nano studio .and "slate" or whatever that one was called, I've heard of a few of those piano Sims Russ uses too, I've heard some good things about all of those Russ mentioned here...
This is one thing I need to get better at in recording , is, knowing what something is gonna sound like , ahead of time; That is, saving myself time & effort by KNOWing before I have to try and go back and try somethin else, and knowing what will and will not work... I am getting a bit better at it , I must say @russ8889 @#SEONN
I've been actually playing parts (piano, organs, guitars, etc) analog and recording them, it seems counterintuitive at first, (like, why don't you just PLAY the whole song in that manner, why bother Sampling yourself??) But when you have to add short snippets (samples) it forces you to be more creative and the tempo + beat give you ideas you might not have had .... (I hope this makes sense lol )
