I love to hear how the words may have sounded in the ancient language. So beautiful sounding. I think that is super important because it gives life to the language. I love how the lecturer actually goes through the words to help us pronounce them especially words with non-western sounds.

We don't actually know how the words were supposed to sound since vowels weren't recorded.

As a Kemeticist (a practitioner of the revival of ancient Egyptian religion), this will surely help me out a lot. I not only wish to extend my prayers to ttthe almighty Neteru in English, but perhaps I can speak to them in the beautiful Kemetic language. Gloory be to Osiris, Isis, and Heru-Pa-Khered (Horus the child). Amun Ra, burning brightly forever more in the heart of mankind.

Hello, I'm Egyptian and I LOOOOVE how you link ancient Egyptian words to our nowadays Arabic or Egyptian-accent-Arabic, like the word Aywa, and also Wban, and Khad (in the water), and that you have your own opinion about how to pronounce the words .. Thanks a lot! I'll keep learning with you, sir. All respect!

I know this was posted 2 years ago but I have a question, On the chart from the 1st video where it has the transliteration chart, there are 2 S and a 3rd with a check looking mark above it. The 2 S's, how do you know which one to use?
@guideofegypt8409
@guideofegypt8409 4 года назад
The s with mark above is very clear how to use because it serves as sh, the 2 s are the problem, we treat both as s but I don't agree with that, one is s and the other could be z or th

Thank you for the quick reply! I have been an Egyptophile for almost my whole life. It really bothers me that scholars aren't 100% how it was spoken (proper vowels instead of putting "e" between consonants in most words). But maybe that adds a bit more mystery to it!

I'm just a very beginner who is not being able to do the exercises yet but I think you can check other material over the web so help understand his videos better. It's always good to conjugate some techniques from different methods which, however, complement the one you're taking. I for one am trying to do that, but, as I try to learn several other languages, time to do the exercises and watcha the vids and read the texts is not often not enough, sometimes having to sacrifice the study of some so as not to lose the needed frequency for other languages studied. I suggest you watch this video lesson (I can't afford to pay for the course but I loved the free sample lesson),with it you will understand this course even better (I confess this channel is awesome but I will have to watch it more times to grasp the content better, whereas in this one I could get it from the first time I watched, cause he takes it letter by letter, pronounce each phoneme twice and draws it twice as well): Decoding the Secrets of Egyptian Hieroglyphs | Ancient Egyptian Alphabet | The Great Courses ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WIjREbbFjNE.html

I did not watch this video and my comment is here only because you don't know what you are teaching: Instead of writing 𓊪𓏏𓎛𓇋𓅓𓅓𓃀𓅱𓊪𓈖 (in the title image of the video) you have to write 𓇋𓅱𓊪𓏏𓎛𓀀𓅓𓃀𓅱𓊪𓈖 (presuming that Pth is just a person, not a god neither a pharaon)
