@@Dorkster81 I think solo queue in low ranks is more difficult because you can pair with others who understand the game only so often. Would like to form a group of people who play regularly in the evenings CST. Hit me up if you'd like defcon#11692
@@LegsON lol! I do soak out of my mind, but fail to meet for team objectives. I'm getting better at that. Minimap / map awareness is totally hacking. Reported! /S
For those curious, the Garrosh player’s message was: “Are you playing Azmo on a request?” Makes sense because Azmodan is not a usual pick for high level play. The Azmo player is probably a streamer or something. Overall, very good team, fighting till the end without getting salty despite being steamrolled. Very strong oppo Medivh. And, to Grubby, thanks for keeping HotS community alive!
He taught a standard team composition, but aside from that same. He just says make a good team comp.... we're new we prolly don't even know what heros do so how do we apply this information?
haha yeah grubby is solid but this is kinda not a great poster explanation video :p he shared a few things but grubby is more of a gamer and less of an active commentator when he gets in the zone -- as many of us do. i'll try to see what other resources are on the channel?
Inviting friends to start trying HotS and looking for a nice beginner's guide to recommend. Appreciate the effort making new guides, it'd be nice to see one on Cursed Hollow covering more of the basics on how the game works (experience, etc.)
I would look at not paradox his older videos are quite helpful. Not to say his new ones aren't but his older videos were focused alot more on reaching than replays and self analasys.
I enjoyed this video and your advice on mentality but I didn't learn anything about the game as far as I can tell. I opened this video hoping to learn about roles, lanes (how to split, if that is a thing), team strategy and item builds. Reality is the video looked like a 1 sided stomp by a better team at high level and there wasn't much content for learners.
Great job encouraging new players - Have been thinking of doing an introduction to Heroes to cover things like Health Globes, camp rotations, map awareness and all that stuff. I am low ranked but have been playing this game since early Alpha and have never stopped. I love it when people join me to play it.
One of the most under appreciated and under rated games ever. I'm a Starcraft fan I play SC2 all the time but I love this game and think it is a damn shame the game was not more popular and Grubby was and I guess is the top streamer of this game. Game is free to play but the Nexxus bundle will give you 10 heroes and lot's of other stuff for less than $15.
Orphea is amazing, but her poke distance is very short, and she is squishy, which is why they gave her that automatic dash most likely. A good ETC, combined with another reliable CC, can make playing her a terrifying experience lol...
While the skill of your opponents was certainly a huge factor in their victory, their draft also helped a lot. Not only the Stiches + Medivh combo to build a succesful cobo, but since your teams game plan was also based on a lesser form of kidnapping through Garrosh, Medivh and Anduin were able to counter that strategy very hard by protecting/Light-Bombing Garrosh's target and using Portal or Leap of Faith to safely extract them, preventing your team from pulling of your best combo for the majority of your attempts.
I know Grubby and many others will already understand what I'm about to say, but since this video is also aimed at beginners I'll add something. When drafting, don't focus to much on countering the enemy team. It's much more important that your team functions well and covers all the essentials. If you can ensure that and counter the enemy at the same time (as a hero you're comfortable with), then you can do so. In this example, both Medivh and Anduin were already good picks for their team by themselves. That they also happened to counter Garrosh was a welcome bonus.
people want to see the real things . a lot of tutorial videos with a controlled environment are made by the same team (.go check it out in this channell :) )
Great video, ive been playing since Beta on and off. Ranked Gold as of this current season, but I dont play enough anymore to climb the ladder. Love the content and glad to have another content creator back in the corner of such a great game. Maybe do a video on map awareness, camp importance before objectives, and overall macro play. Macro-play can often times wins games even when you're outdrafted or outskilled. Oh and DON'T FORGET TO SOAK.:)
I gotta note that this isnt really a beginner guide at all. it takes months to learn what heroes do what, their ults, interactions with others. beginners need a basic guide of like: avoid big fights until 10, go to obj, dont fight when down talent lvls, get camps before obj (or just get camps in general) dont fight 3 v 5, etc.
@@tuantopeng4769 obj is the objective. almost all maps have an objective that pops up around 2minutes 30 seconds (timing varies for different maps). on this (spider queen) map, objective is collecting coins and turning in. but even here, if you get camps before your team turns in the coins to start the spiders, you will have camps pushing lanes while spiders are pushing too. The point of the game is to kill buildings, fighting is just a necessity to do this.
@@jalilfierro1363 at least HOTS is the only moba who is trying to improve and give more diversification. I think shared exp and no items make the games more enjoyable and fair.
Actually the red team had the better draft. They had synergy from Medivh (protect, portal, Arcane Rift), Stitches (Gorge, hook), Anduin (root, Lightbomb), Rexxar's Misha (stun), Guldan (Horrify for crowd control and Fel Flames for poke). The blue team needed to swap Lucio for Uther and Azmodan for either Junkrat/Lunara/Artanis. Orphea needed Eternal Feast for level 10 to zone out and isolate the enemy team longer.
I didnt play HotS in around 3 years and please correct me if Im wrong, but: most matches are a fest of unbalance, you either steamroll or get steamrolled and theres rarely any in between. Is this still the case? Should I try this game again (lately Ive only played FPS games)? Is Imperius and Artanis still useful? (I can rarely play anyone else). What hero should I choose as an easy damage dealer and healer for a returning noob, Raynor any good up until plat/diamond?
If you're in character select screen in Quick Match, you can click 'talents' bottom left. Then, you have three tabs of builds, and you can select talents for each tier to pop up as 'favorite' depending on which build tab you select at the start of a match. Don't know if this is a good explanation, but that's how I do it at least.
Anyone else notice that the Garrosh kept chasing the Medivh despite Medivh being the only hero on their team capable of quickly disengaging from those kind of all-in attempts? lol
Im a new hots player. Where I can see a timer when mercenaries appear? Because sometimes Im outof my mind to camp even it's very free to catch some mercenaries. 😂
Hey guys. If i already died 8 times is this a sign that MAYBE i should be more carefull and not overextend like a maniac? I also exclusively play range assassin, its my job to initiate every fight, correct?
You can start the teamfight by ,,ping"(you can find this feature in right corner of your minimap). You can ping an enemy so you team will know that you want to fight.... you can start fight with every hero like this communication is a key. And YES , dont be overextendet as ranged assasin ...always keep distance between you and enemies. If you wanna rush forward and be in the middle of battle try bruiser or tank class, dont be scared to use melee heroes. Btw you will surely learn to predict teamfights as well in the future .
HOTS stuff! i have been playin since beta on and off, probably a master lvl played if I played ranked and tried. But ranked is like 1 in 3 games is decent, so i would just rather have fun then try to climb.
4:20 the games I play with people are in qm because I suck at ranked. I suck at the whole game and yet I'm over lvl 525. The lucio and azmodan there would be in top or bottom lane. What do I do
Even Grubby can get werkt. It's not that I'm smug saying gg it's just a feeling. It's as if the enemy can easily reach out a sweep your "team" away. When you have no team or they are blissfully unaware of almost everything.
This shouldn't be advertised as a bootcamp. It's informational for sure but playing live SL games doesn't lend itself to actually explaining everything that's necessary for a new player because there is simply too much going on (and stuff that's unique to the map and match up being played). Call it a Grubby Q&A or something but I came expecting something like how Kyle has been breaking stuff down and I'm sorely disappointed. Grubby's great, promoting the game to new players is great, but this isn't really a guide, it's just a collection of helpful tips and trivia.
Been playing for 5 years+. Don’t know if I’ll ever stop. Amazing game. Dumps on LoL from a ridiculous height. I don’t know about Dota. Frankly, I don’t wanna know.
Im an alpha tester lvl 90 coming back in the game, I player healers, mostrly Auriel, and go around following the dps healing them, I know I cant do camps by myself and I dont make calls. I dont use the chat at all. I think Im doing well as supp, Ive saved teamfights only by casting energized W's and I swap the trait constantly. Yet Im being called a noob every game, win or lose. What am I doing wrong?
That's something you cannot change, no matter your level or skill. People will try to bring you down and push down the blame for their mistakes on you. A good support fixes other peoples mistakes, just keep at it and mute anyone who harasses you.
Diamond in the very first pre-season as it that means anything. I go to gold and suicide, leave silver by destroying the other team. I don't care to go up the ladder in this game, playing the same meta heroes every match again with long queues. I NEVER play QM and just treat ranked as QM that people try to play a balanced team at least.
I feel as though it would be helpful if you made guides on a fresh account, since the game is free I doubt it's difficult and it would be nice for new players like me to understand what we see as a noob, and not what a good player sees, great guide regardless though
For me, the biggest problem is there aint enough people playing the game, and I think vids like this could make more people get into the game! Great content as always, thanks :)
No idea what 3/4 of what this cat said means. This isn't bootcamp. HOTS players maybe enjoyed this and had an idea of what was going on. GG on you giving them an idea!
I'd love to get good at this. Trying to practice in quick match now after getting back into it, but am being flamed every game for not being l33t. It's an extremely toxic community.
to any people trying to play this or get started ignore this video it will NOT help you at all except one phrase "Make a good team comp." which to new people is impossible to know.
I was the other way around. Tried league once after HotS and consistently topped all stats in the beginner noob games by a mile. After a couple of hours I uninstalled, cos I’m not cheating on HotS with that crap!
Just decided to look up for some HOTS videos after a bad day as new player (10+ almost one sided loses and 2 wins in quick match) to learn how to be a better player. Got zero to no information from this video. Please don't name videos like that. If I wanted to watch some gameplay, I would search for such videos. 28 mins of nothing...
i will start playing this game cuz some friends recommended but i have to tell you... this was one of the worst beginners guide i've saw of any game i've played! rip!
