This is very interesting/informative. I am virtually 100% clueless about all pitch jigging and would not have asked those questions. This kind of info is most important for jig selection. People need to know this.

In NJ and want to try SPJ for sea bass. Is the gear standard as shown in your videos or also specific to regions? For example heavier jigs, including micros, because of colder water temperatures and not just depth. Thx and tight lines.
The gear can be used in any region. The most important factor is the pound class tackle you want to use that is properly sized for the depth you are fishing and size fish you are targeting. No experience with drastically colder water temperatures but I would not expect that to have an affect on jig size. Water depth and speed of drift are what matters most
