Learning Thursdays: Person-centered Language: Responding to the Person rather than the Disease 

Effective communication is vital to assist patients in reaching recovery. This session will explore the use of culturally sensitive, understandable and non-intrusive communication to improve treatment. We'll also cover recent revisions to the NYS Justice Center Code of Conduct. 11/2/17
Learning Thursdays is a recurring free learning opportunity geared toward New York State's addiction and substance use disorder workforce. After you have familiarized yourself with content, go to the OASAS Test Portal, complete an exam on the material, and receive a Certificate of Completion that will go toward the renewal of your OASAS professional credentialing. Some courses are also approved for NYSED Social Work continuing education hours.
