Learning to fly Microlight Trike Pegasus Quantum conversion

After having my NPL for a year now, i got the opportunity to do a conversion to the Pegasus Quantum trike. This Trike has a 912 engine, like most smaller fixed wing aeroplanes. The climb rate was something amazing other than what im used to. Thanks to Willie vd Merwe for letting me use his trike for the conversion and for training me on it. I regard this type as "next level" among the trikes! This was one of the best experiences on a trike to date.

They are lovely planes, especially good for students to learn in. I’ve done about 500 hours on firstly a 582 Quantum and then a 912 Quantum. Then bought a Quik-R and that’s yet another step up in performance. I was surprised to see that you were flying with the altimeter set to height above sea level rather than runway altitude, but then just realised that you’re so high up that the altimeter probably can’t adjust that far. The ignition and key on the right is also unusual, I’ve only ever seen them on the left side. Enjoy your flying

Thanks. The runway altitude above sea level is 3500ft and thats what we set it to when on the ground. Wow youre privileged to have flown both the 582 and 912 Quantum, not to even mention the Quik-R! Thats every Microlighters dream to fly those. Thanks for your comment. About the ignition on the right. I would not know. Its the first time ive flown a Quantum. Would love to trade in my Aquilla some day for one of these😁👊

If I remember correctly, the instrument fit and position of the master switch and start button are chosen by the original buyer before it's built. Mine's on the left and I've got the Flydat digital engine instrument module in mine but I bought it 15 years ago second hand. I love my 912 Quantum and can't wait until my waterlogged runway is dry enough to get the grass cut and get airborne again 😁

Thank you! The yellow one i got from airwear here in SA. The blue one in the video i got from a friend. He was flying trike many years ago. But not anymore. So he gave me this awesome flight suit. I tried having a look on the label where it was made. But the sign on the lable is washed out . Try Airwear @Kerry. Maybe they can sort you out.
