Very exciting .... I absolutely love Daffodils ....all the different varieties ....so very beautiful .... Wishing you good luck ... can't wait to follow your 'show' journey 😊😊❤❤
Really interesting video, and I'm very interested to follow your journey. I think this crappy season had got us all a bit down in the dumps, but it's good to see you so enthusiastic and excited to be trying something new, your positivity is infectious! 👍
@@eliandkate haha, well hopefully not kill. It’s a slow burner. Have you ever grown anything soil free? I’m already thinking of Christmas and some bulbs I can grow indoor in decorative dishes and vases for gifts.
Hi Eli, Looking forward for spring to see the result of your daffs. Hope you win a prize, you deserve it, good luck. My favourites are Tete-a-Tete and Jetfire (dwarf 8"" high), also King Alfred and Dutch Master (Trumpet 16") what your friend calls long nose.
First hard frost this morning so growing season is over except for the garlic I put in Saturday, until seed starting time late winter. Good luck with your daffodils!
Ok, so I am growing along with you, just a little adjustments in time. It is just a bit early yet to “plunge” the bulbs. Samhain is our day to plant bulbs in the fall and then about 100 days later, we are seeing them. Anywho, my raised beds are approximately 36” deep. To do the plunge, should I only go about 18” (halfway) down? Thoughts? This is an experiment for me as well. Thank you in advance for your time and thoughts.
Oh exciting…. Someone growing with me! The plunge needs to be a good few inches above the bulbs (I was quoted 4 or 5), it’s basically mimicking the bulbs being in the ground.
Is there a reason to have five to a pot? Might they grow better with fewer to a pot as they will be able to take more nutrients for themselves? Or are they semi-social plants and perform better with company? (I have no clue). I was similar when I started my garden... I wanted to avoid the "standard" plants simply because I wanted something different. I've since added daffodils and tulips... but they are simply part of the greater variety now :D Best of luck!
There are two ways to enter, single stems in a vase or a pot of blooms. I think the 5 in a pot is the standard for entering the whole pot. I’d have to check though, not 100% certain
No, you're not competitive at all 😅 I love daffodils because the gophers won't eat them or naked ladies - well, that doesn't sound right but. .. good luck- looking forward to the spring fling. 👍
