I guess the consequences could be excitement at the wrong time. The dog does not have to be so excited when lunch time, just eat calmly that is why we give him limits and boundaries and he learn to wait and be calm 😊

Consequences are that he owns you then. In any group of animals, the alpha is the one who controls the food. Doesn't matter if it's lions, gorillas, or wolves. The other animals give food to the alpha and the alpha always eats first. If you don't show your dog that you are the alpha, then he becomes the alpha, and then he becomes the psychological pack leader. Then if you go to walk him and he's pulling on the leash, attacking everything he sees (protecting the pack), or bites at your child for being too close to him during a meal (normal way to discipline the young in the animal world), you're going to blame the dog but it was you who nurtured that behavior.
